Arrived after 7pm due to heavy rain and traffic during a 200+ mile journey. We were greeted by our host, Jeston who took time to show us where everything was and how everything worked. For two of us, and two dogs (a 9 mth old Bichon Frise and a 7 mth old Toy Poodle), the cottage was very large and very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, good central heating, instant hot water and good shower over the large bath. WI FI signal was good throughout our stay. TV with 'Freesat' box and DVD player. Lots of storage space for clothes and two bikes. Every thing was spotlessly clean. The cottage is located only 30 mins walk from Portmeirion village which we did visit although dogs are no longer allowed anywhere on the estate. Also very short drives away from Beddgelert, Snowdon Ranger and Croesor from where we went up Moel Hebog, Snowdon and Cnicht, respectively. Yes, the 'Pupsters' went up them too! The Welsh Heritage, Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog, railway crosses the drive to the cottage so that you can see and hear the steam trains passing. Don't worry - they don't run at night! Also, only a short drive to Harlech where our two 'Pupsters' had a great time on the beach. All in all; it was perfect for our needs and we would definitely stay again. Thank you, Jeston, for your kindness and a great holiday.
This was our second visit to Bron Turnor cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves again. It is very spacious and comfortable and in such a wonderful spot, with the steam trains going past the end of the garden, plus Portmeirion and Snowdonia on your doorstep. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There is always lots to do and wonderful walking in North Wales (as long as you are prepared for the occasional torrential downpour). We hope to come back again.
We stayed a week in Bron Turnor Cottage, along with our 23 year old daughter and 19 year old son. We had a wonderful week. The cottage has character, is spacious and fully equipped. The environment is beautiful.
Jeston and Shameen are very welcoming, Shameem surprised us with fresh tomatoes and spinach
We loved the dog, horse and sheeps.
Also very nice is that several times in the day the Ffestiniog steam train comes along.
It was a wonderful base to explore the area; we have visited places such as Portmeirion, Porthmadog and Penrhyndeudraeth, the coast and many castles and manors in Wales.
We have felt completely at home since our first visit four years ago,and will be revisiting again this year of possible. We all love the area , particularly the mountains, and the trains. We like to be like railway children and wave to the train before we go out somewhere for the day.
