This is a cure from the banality of cloned hotels and hotel rooms. The whole hotel is like a Victorian Folly. It's like Bertie Wooster's mad Welsh Aunt Megan designed it. My room was on the ground floor, the main bedroom was nothing unusual but the shower was amazing. The shower was in the base of one of the Chateau's turrets, so it was round and huge, and it had three shower heads. If you want to experience this shower, and I advise you do, the ask for the "Coed Room".
I ate in the restaurant three nights running and the food varied from OK to very good, the best dish I had was the lemon sole. Breakfast was good buut not exceptional.

Room Tip: For a great shower ask for the Coed Room

Firstly, delicious food! Monkfish was superb, all three courses we had were highly commendable. Hotel itself is tired. Occupies a great position overlooking the Menai Strait. In fairness the whole hotel was nice and warm. Apart from being tired the place is just so very noisy! Nothing to do with the bad weather we encountered, people slamming doors, talking loudly! Didn’t live uptown expectations at all!

We are so very glad to have found this gem and must say it is our new escape spot for North Wales. No problem parking and from the moment we checked in- everybody was very kind and attentive. For a classic building it is very well kept and the lounges give you no choice but to relax. Dinner was delicious and good choice of wines. Breakfast was excellent and I must thank the staff for being warm and welcoming.
Will certainly return x

We staying in the Rhianfa Lodge which was very disappointing indeed. The walls were paper thin. We could hear every toilet flushing, tap running, doors opening and closing, conversations and snoring all night. It had been our 10th wedding anniversary and could not have been more disappointed. The price was far too expensive and when complained of our experience we were offered only 10% discount and said that was not enough so they gave me 20%. In my eyes I should of had at least 50% taken off. The dinner however was fabulous and the breakfast was very good. The view from our room was lovely.

Room Tip: Do not choose any room in the Rhianfa Lodge
