The food ordered was well presented and very tasty we ate in the back part of the restaurant that is decorated as Alice 's adventures in wonderland and the room is amazing. Full of 'Alice décor' It is a very retro restaurant and tea and cakes are also excellent and served with a smile, the staff are very accommodating for all sorts of reasons!!!

We love going to the Baytree whether it is for a yummy cocktail made by Jordan? (Hope I got his name right) or for good food or for the scrummiest cakes around. The staff are friendly and helpful. It would be utter perfection if they fixed the wobbly tables, and the chairs were a better height to be able to eat from the tables and if they replaced all the objectified images of women with other, less sexist artwork. There are about 5 signs that need changing. I love the fact they are a dog friendly venue and host events and live music too.

Hello thank you for your lovely review, I do however feel a little confused about the sexist comment, I am a woman that owns the bay tree I designed and decorated the whole shop myself, pictures of 1950s pin up girls in champagne glasses fully clothed I hardly find sexist in fact it shows how wonderful women are also I have pictures of ladies during the war era stating we can do it which again to me shows empowerment i not sure which sign you felt was sexist, please come in and have another good look around as I think there are plenty of signs that show we are far from sexist

We found this place completely by accident and were so glad we did. The service was amazing, the quality of the food fantastic and the portions huge. The quirkiness of the cafe was a revelation. Hugely recommended.

We visited the Bay Tree for lunch on a Monday. It was very busy but we got a table in the Alice in Wonderland room. Considering how busy it was we were served promptly. The menu had plenty of good snacks to choose from, also main meals if you wanted them. Considering the very interesting and quirky nature of the decor the menu was fairly standard cafe fare. We chose Welsh Rarebit as we only wanted a light meal. Our food arrived fairly quickly and was very good. (Two slices of bread, some salad and chutney.) Looking around the room the other customers had chosen a range of items and they all looked very appetising. The afternoon tea looked particularly inviting. The quality of the food and choices available on the menu mean we will definitely visit the Bay Tree again.
