Our visit to Tailwind was perfect. We stayed in Casita Pumita for two nights and it was absolutely lovely. From the roof, we had views of the ocean and enjoyed seeing the stars at night. The bed was very comfortable with views of the jungle. The kitchen had everything that we needed. Our stay was rejuvenating and we wished we could have stayed longer. We hope to go back again next year at the same time of year.

I spent a week here with a yoga retreat group, and we had an amazing time! From the start, the owner Tamara was so professional, efficient with communication, organized, upbeat and supportive. It's actually quite rare to find someone with all these qualities, so I very much appreciated that.

You are truly in the jungle here; this is the point. :) This also means that bugs do exist, things get damp, and paths are not brightly lit-- all normal nature occurrences!

The beach and yoga platform are both great. However, it does involve walking on an uneven dirt trail with rocks, roots, trees, branches on your path. Good to know if people have balance issues and/or will need to bring sturdy footwear.

Noise also carries all around the jungle. Wonderful to hear the ocean and birds, but sometimes our yoga sessions were serenaded by some electrical appliances (sawing? mowing?) and music from nearby.

It was a blessing to not have WiFi (unless you went up to the office). Easy to hitch a ride and back into San Pancho town. Fantastic catering by Chef Alexandro and his team.

Thank you so much for helping us have a successful retreat!

Yay Tarzan and Jane! So sorry about those buzz saws, not our favorite jungle noise! Luckily the building project will be done very soon and our blissfully quiet jungle will be restored :).

My family stayed in Palapa Parota, which was glamping at its best! We arrived in the dark on December 23rd and were awoken the next morning by my 7 year old daughters awed "WOW" as she took in the spectacular view of the jungle!

Tailwind is 'out there' and remote....but it really wasn't that far out of town. We rented a light pick up truck from Gecko (also highly recommend). The road was rough dirt, but it was pretty easy to get in to San Pancho to enjoy dinner and the holiday festivities at night.

Tamara, Judy and Tigre are warm and welcoming hosts and Tailwind is a beautiful oasis. I loved that the property was being developed in harmony with nature. We enjoyed the views from the open air shower (and the composting toilet!). The kayak tour with Tamara and Tigre was great too!

Room tip: Bring a head lamp! it's easier than finding the switch to the trail lights when you have to pee in the middle of the night!

It was more than we could have imagined. The moment we arrived we felt each and every stress from home melt away, and was a relieving escape from the heat of the towns and beaches.

You are truly in the jungle here surrounded in every direction by massive palms. The songs of the jungle, Cicadas at night and tropical songbirds in the morning, sing you to sleep at night and gently wake you up with the sunrise in the morning.

We stayed in palapa Tigre and recommend it highly. It sits over the pool and has incredible views of the jungle and ocean beyond. There's a beautiful long table on the deck and open air kitchen. An outdoor shower nestled in the palms.

To our hosts, Tamara, Jungle Judy and Tigre, you were amazingly gracious.

We couldn't have asked for more and have to say that out of all the places we have traveled (which are many) this is one of our favourite and most memorable spots to date.

From the moment I first set foot on the property I knew I was in for a treat. I had no idea it was going to be as powerful an experience as it was. This place changed my "Me."

The entire set-up bleeds of low-impact, high quality, one-of-a-kind construction. Jungle Judi's line on their website video was perfect, "We're most proud of what we didn't do on the property." And Tiger's new word, "Glamping" is spot on.

The entire facility is impressive but there are no words to describe just how cool these people truly are. All you have to do is spend 10 seconds talking with them to know they are among the most genuine, hard working, self-denying people on this good Earth. Each of them, in their own special way, are like characters from an epic movie. I was both humbled and inspired just to be in their presence. My new life's filter? "What would Tiger, Judi or Tamara do?"

The only recommendation I can make is to not change a thing. They nailed it. I will be back again and again. One tip for guests...bring an audio recording device as well as a good camera. You are going to want to remember the sounds you'll hear in the jungle forever.

My hat is off to each of them for what they have made possible at Tailwind Jungle Lodge.

Respectfully Submitted,
Brian Gallagher

Room tip: Parota or Chiche' are all I needed but I drooled over Gecko as well as the others.
