We were very keen to try the new Justin Hemmes Queen Chow in Manly . We booked online which was the best thing to do as it was incredibly busy for a Wednesday night.
There were numerous issues regarding this restaurant especially the table settings as the tables for 2 were so closely packed together it felt like you were on a combined long table.
We could hear everyone’s conversations so at the end we basically just talked to each other which was certainly a shame for the couple next to us who was celebrating their wedding anniversary.
On the food side we found the dumplings to be excellent but not enough choices as there were only mixed dumpling platters on the menu. The honey king prawns were excellent.
Our sweet & sour pork was okay but it looked like the 50’s we were hoping for something more creative & innovative . The other issue was our rice came out last & we had to chase that up every few minutes.
Overall - busy restaurant, tables too close together except if one books for a group or 4 . Dumplings tasty & service friendly although not always efficient. It’s also rather pricey for a Chinese.
