We spent 9 nights at the Branksome in February. We chose it because of its proximity to the Airport, train station and Mascot shops, and in that regard it worked very well. Our suite was huge, with 2 bathrooms (only 1 bedroom), lots of living space, a massive balcony and a well equipped kitchen/laundry. And the staff were remarkably friendly and willing to assist.
On the down side, their recommended shuttle from the airport (Redy2Go) was hopeless, and we eventually gave up and caught a cab. Most other potential customers did the same. No refunds we being offered. At the Branksome, room cleaning was very hit-and miss. One day we had to phone at 5.30pm to request that the room be cleaned. Each day the cleaners came with a random assortment of equipment and replacement items. Sometimes our few used dishes were washed, other times not. When I tried to use the dishwasher, the instructions were on the 'Electronic Concierge'. Unfortunately, the models didn't correspond, and I had to call for assistance. And the light in one of the bathrooms was somehow connected to the sliding door!
We enjoyed our meals in the restaurant (lunch and dinner, we didn't try breakfast), although the service was a bit random. And a lot of the meals were served on trays that were to big for the very small tables.

We understand that the hotel has only been open since October, and some of these issues could be put down to 'teething problems' . We assume that a lot of things will be sorted out in time. But whoever designed a rooftop bar that can't be used when it rains or is too windy needs to find a new job!More
