Great refurb of an old building into a nooky outique beach hotel
Very welcoming (Laurel) and great food - menu limited to available produce.
Every effort to make your comfortable - this small hotel deserves success

We enjoyed our overnight stay at Athelstane House in the heart of Queenscliff. Our room was spacious and well appointed and very pleasant. Laurel was a friendly and welcoming host who gave us a number of good suggestions for dinner places within walking distance. The breakfast next morning was excellent. We will definitely return next time we are overnighting in Queenscliff. Next time we might opt for a bathroom without a spa bath because we found clambering up the steps to get into it for our showers, a little precarious! If you are under 70, it shouldn't be an issue.

We stayed here as we were going on the Blues Train. The hotel is in a lovely old building in the centre of Queenscliff, a few minutes walk from the water and the train station. The rooms were all lovely with lots of interesting guest areas. The service was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was included and was delicious. There is also an excellent restaurant there. Checkout is midday so it allowed for a lovely lazy Sunday morning. Perfect!

Stayed overnight whilst attending the Q Train dining experience. Friendly staff, they upgraded our room which was nice. Excellent room and amenities can't fault anything. Enjoyed a beautiful breakfast the following morning. High recommended would definitely stay again.

We have stayed at Athelstane House on several occasions over many years and this gorgeous accommodation never disappoints. It has such a relaxing atmosphere and the rooms are so comfortably and beautifully furnished. Relaxing on the balcony after a delicious breakfast is a wonderful way to start the day. Charming with warm and welcoming service-we will definitely return.
