“Elegant hotel with down-home friendliness”
Reviewed 7 April 2012

It's unusual to find a hotel that offers first class service while making its guests feel at ease. The Hermitage is a portrait of elegance, with its stunning lobby, luxurious rooms and fine restaurant. The concierge, Vicky, cheerfully wrangled up show tickets, and a member of the staff efficiently arranged for our rental car. The laundry service was perfect, but what we enjoyed most about our two day stay was the Southern hospitality. Every person on the staff was friendly and quite eager to make our time there a pleasurable one. Congrats to the management for its well- trained team. We would surely stay here again.

Room Tip: Our room faced away from the main street so there were no sleep disturbances.

I attended college in Nash and now live/practice medicine there. The Hermitage has been renovated to its former glory.

Stay there and eat at least once at the Capitol Grille.Find events @ TPAC (across the street),the Ryman (6 block walk), and maybe Schermerhorne.Your concierge can help.Walk down to 2/3 avenues for late nite honky-tonk country. And then cap it all by eating @ Mortons and The Palm. Great time-empty wallet!

Room Tip: Higher room facing west for less noise.

My husband and I only spent 2 days there and was pleased with our experience at the hotel. The restaurant, Capital Grill (NOT the chain) was fantastic and Oak bar great as well. Try the hunters plate! Service at the hotel was great but I have to say I think it's a bit overpriced. Paying $400/night should get you all the bells and whistles and although we were quite happy, I am not sure I'd spend that again there.

the hotel is lovely, the lobby really amazing to come into, and the rooms nice. the bathroom is one of the nicest i've ever had in a hotel, with lots of Molton Brown toiletries, a lovely bath and an amazing shower. it is really expensive however, and you could only park there using the valet parking. not sure it was good value for money. we didnt have breakfast there so i cant comment on it.

We found everything about the Hermitage exceptional. The location in downtown Nashville is quiet, yet makes the great music venues easily walkable. The building itself is a gem, with a glorious lobby and spacious well-appointed rooms. The bathrooms are large, bright and nicely finished, right down to the pillow menu. Service is impeccable in all areas, including bell staff, check-in, rooms, restaurant, and the bar. The historic art deco Men's Room next to the bar, with its prohibition tunnel to the state capital building, is an unexpected and pleasant surprise for men and women alike. We would highly recommend the Hermitage and we will definitely stay there again when we next visit the very pleasant city of Nashville.

We stayed here 3 nights in a beautiful room with a fabulous bathroom. Both were large and had everything you could want.Only problem with our room was that we looked directly at an office building and had no view and not much light until afternoon. They could have offered us an alternative view but it would have been more expensive than it already is.
The service was impeccable and everyone was charming.
Coffee and muffins in the lobby in the morning were a nice feature.
We were close to Broadway and the music scene but I found it hard to find a decent restaurant that was not a bar. There is no real shopping in the area either but this is Nashville.Music is the raisin d'être.

Room Tip: Ask for a view if you want one

We loved this hotel. Our room was amazing and the bathroom out of this world! The staff were great & helpful & knew our names without prompting! The lobby is stunning. It is an old hotel so you can hear noise from the adjoining rooms (through the connecting doors) but luckily our neighbour was a (good) musician so it wasn't too bad! We would stay here again.
