Each year Hardin Co celebrates the New Year in a grand way. They offer a pkg deal that includes the room, dinner, beverages, band and breakfast for one price. This was our second year and we enjoyed it again!! The room was clean, although the sheets were not too comfy. The pool is still out of commission (been over a year now) so if you are interested ina an indoor pool this service is not available. The breakfast buffet included lunch also and was served til 1:00.

Room Tip: i don't think there is a bad room!! it was very quiet and i think all rooms have a view of Pickwick Lake.

We went for a visit of nearby Shiloh National Battlefield Park and had intended to camp. Later we decided to stay a night at the Inn instead. Fair rates, nice all around (for it's age) and seemed rather clean and tidy. The (indoor) pool, according to a maintenance man, had been closed for two years, which was a bummer. Our room had a beautiful view of the upper dam water and the lighted dam bridge. BUT.... we were down wind the entire time from the (very very) nearby pulpwood plant and the terrible odor filled every inch of our room via the a/c intake, as well as the rest of the hotel and the Pickwick park as a whole. It was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Without this major detail.. the place would have gotten a 4 out of five from me, but this was an absolute deal breaker. Also, don't eat at the seafood place in the gas station a couple of miles south of the park on HWY 25. Terrible.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else. The paper plant smell is HORRIBLE.

We went this Oct. and stay on sunday, It has an average room, clean with a nice view of the tN river, which is why we went down there. Next time I will bring my own pillow and blanket because I am spoiled to my linens from home. The pillows were to full. The sand beach area has a very nice place to witness the sunset.. Then the light from the Dam was nice off the water. It was quiet and relaxing. The buffet was good too. The indoor pool was closed and you have to get a key from the desk to use the fitness room and the free breakfast wasn't in play yet, but the staff was friendly and helpful and It was a nice surprise was the bill. It was 20 less than expected. We will be back!

The lodge is quite nice. We've stayed in other state park lodges and find this one to be above average. Comfortable beds, clean, spacious balcony with nice view of the lake and water activity. Plenty of room in and around the pool. Indoor pool still closed. Grandkids liked to swim, visit playground, and feed the ducks.
Ate from the buffet Fri. and Sat. nights. As buffets go, it was pretty good and plenty of selection...actually the fried catfish was very tasty! The staff in the restaurant were especially helpful and made every effort to accommodate. There are a couple of other eating options near by, outside the park.....BBQ, steak, etc. As always, when visiting a state park, you do well to bring an ice chest (with ice) and some picnic/snacks. Grounds are well kept. We'll visit again!

Room Tip: All rooms have water views, but the ones in front of the pool are the best!
