I want to thank Dennis and Deb for a wonderful stay at Armour's. They have a sign on the desk that says"Come as strangers Leave as Friends" that is very much the truth. I felt so at home and welcomed, all the people that work there are just as pleasant and helpful. I hope to return one day.I did have a very wonderful time. Again thanks Deb and Dennis for making us feel apart of your family.

Thanks to Debbie and Dennis for doing everything right to make our Fogbee (Fat Old Guys on Bikes) bicycle club weekend a great experience. We require a special place to accommodate a sweaty group of cyclists and their non cycling spouses. We try to vary our destinations but plan to keep coming back to Red Boiling Springs and Armour's because the scenery and our hosts are just too good.

The perfect place to stay! Dennis, Debbie and all the wonderful people at Armour's Hotel make you feel at home. A beautiful vintage hotel with all the amenities of home. Home cooked breakfast and great conversation each morning are a great start to each day. The owners of this hotel make every effort to make people feel comfortable which is something that is not often seen these days. Unique accommodations with exceptional hospitality. We will be back!

From the moment we arrived, Debbie and Dennis made us feel like family. They are very humble and gracious hosts. We stayed in the bridal suite, which is very sweet and romantically decorated. We also had a mineral bath and massage. This was a first for me, and what a treat it turned out to be. It was raining on the tin roof while we soaked in the hot mineral water listening to soft music. I can't wait to go back and take friends!!!

This was our first experience with a B & B and the one by which I will judge all others.
I had won a night stay at this B & B in 2007 at a silent auction, but was unable to use it and tucked it away. Inn had changed owners since then. My husband was on vacation and we wanted to do something special for Valentine's Day (26th anniversary of our engagement) so I contacted Dennis and Debra and they were so nice to let us still use the long expired certificate. They had had their big celebration event over the weekend since the 14th fell on Monday, so there were only a few couples there that night.

Walking into the hotel was like stepping back in time, including Debra's elegant attire. Even a lot of the reading material is decades old, which was very interesting from a historical standpoint (we looked at a lot of magazines). There are lots of antiques everywhere you look. We felt very comfortable there, as if we were visiting dear friends.

We were able to choose our room from several available. Rooms were small but comfortable with plenty of seating, drawer/closet space and lots of linens. Each room does have its own bathroom, which I doubt was original to the hotel as they are very tiny - like a converted closet - but that is better than sharing a bathroom with strangers.

Wandering in and around the hotel, there are many different arrangements for sitting and reading or playing board games (which are already set up). The porches are fabulous for this as well with rockers, porch swings and tables. Blankets were also on each chair as the weather was a bit chilly. If you simply must watch TV, there is one in the parlor. There was too much other stuff to read and look at to even think about it.

I hate that we missed Dennis, who was away for the week, but Debra was a most gracious hostess. Fresh cookies were made and she gave us ice tea (excellent). She gave us a full tour, explaining the history Red Boiling Springs and of the hotel and how they came to own it and restorations they plan for the future. We sat in the kitchen talking with her until it was time for her to start dinner.

The dining room was beautifully decorated for Valentine's. At dinner, we chose to be seated with one of the other couples. He was a bit of a talker but interesting and we learned a lot about a couple of subjects we knew little about before. The menu changes daily and this evening was grilled steak, fresh made rolls, sweet carrots, potatoes, salad...and more...topped off with a delicious fudge cake with ice cream for dessert. Every item was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Better than what you would expect for the small price paid. With soft big band music playing throughout dinner, and the lights dimmed, it was very romantic. One of the other couples got up and slow danced after dinner.

We took a brief stroll and returned to take in the steam room and a mineral bath. Debra had it all ready for us. Plush robes are provided. She had soft classical music playing and dozens of candles all around. We were allowed to bring a bottle of wine and she also provided a pitcher of ice water. There are two claw-foot tubs and they plan to add a couple more. The mineral bath was not as tingly as some I have experienced it but was very refreshing and relaxing. We were able to stay longer since there were no other appointments that evening. They do have massage therapists by appointment but we were too late to book them for that evening. Will do that next time.

In the morning, before breakfast was ready, the aroma was wafting through the hallways. Breakfast was every bit as delicious as dinner, with scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, gravy, fruits and more. Conversations with other guests were enjoyable - the neighbor's rooster crowing at all hours of the morning being the major conversation starter. Debra joined us for a short while, then returned to her work.

We hung around for a while and chatted more before leaving. I felt like I was leaving a long time friend and we hugged goodbye.

Next door to the hotel is Cyclemo's Motorcycle Museum which is more impressive once you step inside. We had been there before so did not visit this time. We had planned to visit a nearby winery just a couple of miles away, but they were closed (even though operating hours stated otherwise). We did discover a blueberry farm across the street from it. We will return in the spring and summer as this area provides one of our favorite motorcycle day rides.

To summarize, Armour's Hotel is a place to go for a warm and inviting, reasonably priced getaway. We will definitely go there again.
