We tried a new place this time going to visit family in Pigeon Forge, TN. From the service desk personnel to the custodians and maintenance - all the personnel were very friendly and helpful. The room we had was a double queen 1 bedroom with fireplace. It was very clean, nicely decorated and looked to be recently painted. The fireplace (gas) wasn't activated so they gave a discount on the room! Nice! The beds were very comfortable too. Our balcony faced the woods and it was very quiet - something my husband and I really look for in a hotel location. The one-room unit we had has a full kitchen, is well stocked and a nice stackable washer/dryer. Oh - and a DVD player in the living room - very nice too!!

Though we didn't take advantage of the pool area this time - they have a fabulous outdoor and indoor waterpark, a lazy river and two hot tubs. There is something for everyone. Even a small putt-putt area near the pool.

The buildings require your keycard to get in so it is very secure.

The only thing I didn't like was that they do not offer daily housekeeping, which meant I had to make my own bed on vacation (lol). They do pick up garbage daily and refresh your towels and paper products when needed.

You're right next door to Applebee's and within walking distance of Texas Roadhouse. You can even walk to Tanger Outlet with it being just over 1/2 a mile away.

Clean Rooms, Friendly people, awesome facilities and amenities, can't wait to go back!!! Our 20 month old twins loved the kiddie pool outside and the splash pad and kiddie pool inside, and my dad couldn't stay out of the hot tub, very family friendly place to stay!

Big 3 bedroom and clean.Lots of fun for kids 2 great big pools and a lazy river . Family movies out by the pool at nite. There were 30 of us that stay there and every one enjoyed our stay but a little expensive but we'll worth the money. Also close to the big outlet mall and many things for families close by.

This place is incredible. We booked this last minute as we ran from Hurricane Irma. Our 1 bedroom unit was beautiful! And this place is going through some renovation so it's only going to get better. The beds, furniture, and kitchen area are all excellently appointed. The pool area and playground were big hits our with children.

Pros
1. Excellent, clean rooms that are recently and continuously being updated
2. Incredible amenities for kids - water park and playground
3. location and proximity to Pigeon Forge

Cons
1. Staff was nice enough, but not engaging; could be better
2. 1 elevator from the lobby - slow going (this is nit picky)

The room was large and very clean. The indoor and outdoor pools were great. Both had plenty of dry towels. My grandson loved both swimming areas. Greg at the check in desk was very helpful and polite. We will stay here again on our next trip to Pigeon Forge.

We stayed here for our second visit to the Smokey Mountains. We had a 2 and 5 year old with us. The pool is great. By far the best thing about this resort. It was clean and very entertaining. The water slides were fantastic. The staff was always very nice and helpful and seem to work very hard. The location is very good too. It is a good 15-20 minutes from the main tourist attractions but I liked that it was a little off the main road. Our biggest complaint about the place were the rooms. We got a one bedroom suite. The kitchen was nice and fully equipped but the rooms need some major updating. The carpets were torn and dirty, the walls had stains and peeling, the bath tubs were stained, the furniture ripped, and the entire place was out dated. It could have been cleaner as well. The bathroom and kitchen were clean but the rest of the room was not. If they give this palace good renovation it could be a very good place to stay.

Thank you for taking the time to review The Resort at Governor's Crossing. We are glad your kids enjoyed the pools and I will pass on your kind words to staff as they do work very hard. The in room issues you described are not certainly not common, however remodels are planned for this winter. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you next time you stay in the Smoky Mountains, Heather, General Manager
