We stayed for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon trip and would definitely recommend to any couples wanting a romantic place to stay. The lodge were really helpful answering questions and organizing a pick up from the Guatemalan border before our trip. A driver was waiting for us at the boarder when we reached the Belize side in a brand new land cruiser.
The journey to the lodge from wherever you are travelling is quite bumpy at it is at the end of the reserve road, however it is definitely worth it.
We had a waterfall view cabana and it was lovely, especially falling asleep at night to the sound of the water.
The food was great and the cocktails were the best of anywhere on our 3 week trip.
I did a yoga class which was held down by the waterfalls, I am not sure if you could have a better setting! We also took a guiding tour of the surrounding reserve with a visit to a cave, our guide was very knowledgeable of the local area, nature and mayan history in the area. It was definitely my husbands highlight of our trip.
The only downside we found was the cost especially for things once we arrived at the lodge. However this may be due to the current £ exchange rate and the fact that we had been in Guatemala before which was definitely cheaper!

My girlfriend and I were recently in the Mountain Pine Ridge, touring around in the 4x4 we rented, and we decided to check out the Gaia Lodge for a happy hour drink. The staff were very friendly, the food and drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was really nice. I would highly recommend staying here for a cocktail or two or stay for a week and explore all the touring that the Mountain Pine Ridge/Cayo has to offer.

We went here for 3 nights for the Mayan adventure package in early January, and it was absolutely perfect! We adored our tour guide Francisco, he was so knowledgeable! He was by far one of the best tour guides we have ever had! The whole property is beautiful, and the staff was great! We loved it and if we ever come back to Belize we will definitely be staying here again.

Shout out to Francisco: you're awesome! Truly enjoyed meeting you.

Ps... the food is excellent!! Definitely won't disappoint

This is definitely a couples lodge and should be considered on anyone's bucket list. We visited in early/mid January and were grateful to have traveled from a cold location so we had long pants, closed toe shoes, and multiple layers. There is no heat or a/c in the buildings and no glass in the windows, only screens, whether it be the individual rooms or the common space. Saying that, you won't find a more clean and beautiful facility nor finer people in all Belize. If you've visited Belize, you'll know that's a high compliment as everyone in the country is polite, warm and friendly.

The tours and guides are what make it special. Driving Land Cruisers, they know the forest and jungle roads extremely well along with the history, flora and fauna. Always looking for wildlife to point out, they know the geology of various formations and absolutely love their country and their jobs.

We did the three night/two day adventure package which included ground transportation to/from our point of arrival in Belize, Belize City. The lodge was able to accommodate our desire to be dropped in Hopkins, on the beach, for a minimal surcharge.

We highly recommend this to all with a sense of adventure.

Beautiful - welcome drink (fruit juice with or without rum) was a nice touch. Located 300 steps above river with small falls in both a jungle and savannah setting. Numerous outdoor activities. Cabanas were very nice; gorgeous night sky, too.
