I stayed here as a chaperone with a small group of high school students who were in Dallas for a conference. The front desk (especially Joseph B. who helped us organize a complicated trip) was patient and helpful and not at all irritated with our (well-behaved) teens. Every time I asked for advice I was helped politely.
The staff had good knowledge the surrounding restaurants. There is a great breakfast spot near the infamous grassy knoll (Cindi's, I think). We also enjoyed a sushi place near the aquarium. For better or worse, we ate at Chipotle a lot. The best restaurant by far was Sushi Ya, an independent restaurant within walking distance of the hotel- it was amazing. The West End is sketchy (but still has many great restaurants) and towards Main it has a more uptown feel.
The room is clean and decent. The dressers could use some updating but overall, it was totally fine (but not posh.) I had a great view and enjoyed sitting by the pool. On the weekends, the hotel bar/nightclub is very popular.
I would stay here again.More
