If you are looking for an unforgettable getaway, RCL is the spot. Worth every penny. Love taking my kiddos here. Activities for everyone. The meals are worth the trip alone. Everyone on staff makes you feel like a somebody. Great value across the board. Perfect place to unplug for a couple of days.
For the second year running I can't say enough good things about the low fence deer hunting at Rough Creek. I know most people think this is a High Fence spot but I will tell you the low fence hunting is not to be missed. Second year running with Alan Huffman as my guide I was not disappointed. While last year's 17 point monster will be tough to beat the 8 pointer on Friday and 9 pointer on Saturday (a monster in his own right), were two amazing hunts. Huff worked both bucks in with rattling and had me imposition to make a great shot on both. In addition he guided my brother to his first every buck, another great 8 pointer. Throw in a great pig hunt with 6 hogs down and once again I left RC a happy man. I would be remiss if I also did mention the bird hunting at RC. Some of the best upland bird hunting I have done anywhere. Jeff is your man for that.
The lodge is amazing and the food is great. Set on some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen, RC will be in my calendar for many years to come. I'm looking forward to heading back int he spring to try my hand at the Rio Turkeys of which I saw plenty.
Thanks to everyone at RC, the staff is super friendly everywhere on the property and there is so much more to do besides hunting. If you tell Huff his brother from Jersey sent you.
My wife and I were at the lodge because we were doing the Spartan Beast race there on the property and really just expected a quaint motel type small lodge. Boy were we wrong! Great rooms, spa, family and adult pools, golf driving range, horse riding, hunting, fishing and full gun range---and a magnificent restaurant! Wow! We were so impressed! All the staff were friendly and helpful and the whole tenor of the weekend (except for the race of course) was relaxed and easy. We can't wait to go back just to relax and unwind in that fabulous retreat-without the race this time!
Came here for a Spartan Race and wasn't expecting much to be special. This place was pretty awesome! The land was beautiful! Had cool swamp sections, cactus everywhere, they even found some hills for us to carry heavy things on. This was a fun venue and I look forward to coming here again!
We were here for the Spartan race and the property is just beautiful, we were so impressed. We did not stay or eat here but wanted to review just the outside, the land, the views, the staff - just everything was beautiful. If anyone is planning a trip or event, especially outside, this is the place. check out the other review for those who actually stayed here but just know, that ranch, from the winding hilly drive into it, right up to the front door is wonderful
