The Old Rock House Bed and Breakfast is in a great location. Two hours from Dallas and a stones throw away for various small towns full of great shopping and scenic views. The house itself is directly off the highway but, perfectly hidden.
The minute you crack open the front door and step inside the thick walls onto the old creaky floors, you feel like you've stepped into history. The house is so unique and quaint. The decor is somewhere between rustic, victorian, shabby chic and your grandma's house. It is super cozy and relaxing. The bedrooms are spacious with plush beds, tall windows and beadboard ceilings all lovingly restored. The kitchen could be used to cook a full family dinner with all the amenities provided.
My husband, daughter (six yrs. old) and I spent the weekend there and loved every second. There was a small tv to keep us from hearing "MOM! DAD!" while we rocked on the front porch with wine glass in hand and listened to the rain in the meadow. We walked to the grocery store for snacks and wine. The store is close enough that you could get knee walking drunk and still get home without incident. Maybe next time if we don't bring the kiddo with us we might try it! I can't wait to spend sometime there with friends, family or just me and the hubby.
