Let me start by telling a quick story...
I booked my trip via Expedia, prepaid. When I arrived at the hotel, their computer system was down, so they were unable to confirm the prepayment. (Not a big deal... these things happen.) When I checked out, the young woman said that although my receipt said my credit card had been charged for the room, the charge would be removed in 3-5 days.
A week later, I checked my card online, and the charge had changed from pending to confirmed. As it happens, I was in Houston a week later, and I visited the hotel on Sunday morning to have the charge removed. Keldron looked up my reservation and said yes, Expedia should have paid. He then spent 45 minutes trying to coordinate payment with Expedia over the phone. Twice he was disconnected and had to start over. I very much appreciated Keldron's persistence!
He got everything worked out and said that the hotel's accountant would complete the charge reversal on Monday. And indeed, this happened. So thanks to the Hampton Inn for making things right.
As for the hotel itself.... we were in town to see the Astros, and what a great location! The ballpark is just a block away. Staff wear Astros shirts on game days. Hotel is clean and convenient, and breakfast was included... gotta love those waffles.More
