I selected this property because I had a late flight into Hobbie and it seemed accessible from the airport. Upon checking in I requested a quiet room and was told by the front desk associate that "he didn't know if that would be possible." Next, he issued by room key and announced my room number loudly so that I am sure that any of the crowd gathered at the front desk could have easily heard it. I travel frequently both for business and pleasure, am a Marriott Platinum Member and cannot remember an instance prior to this where the staff didn't just write the number on the keycard holder and point to it discreetly. This practice defies common sense and any regard for guest safety. As an aside, the room was worn--chipped tub and stained carpet.
The next morning, I spoke to another front desk clerk and asked her to have the manager call me. She looked like I had just asked her to cure cancer. She assured me that the manager would call me but did not take my name or number. I supplied her with that information. Over one week later, no call from that manager.
