Went to this restaurant last week, after a really bad experience at The Palm where we had to leave without even placing our order.
Great service, great lunch selection, great ambiance.. We requested the HWR Menu to compare options from the regular menu, but decided on ordering from their regular menu. Potato Leak Soup was a bit bland and not as creamy, but it wasn't so bad.
My steak and frites was very tasty!!
If this was a great experience for lunch, i cannot imagine how it would be at Dinner.. I definitely have to come back and try!!

We tried the HRW lunch menu today and it was very good. We had the brussels sprouts and potato leek soup as 1st course; then trout and lasagna for 2nd course and finally mango parfait and the chocolate pastry w/home made vanilla ice cream. I love the hibiscus sorbet that came with the parfait! Super refreshing and light. Just my kind of dessert. The complimentary bread was warm w/great texture. Chef Jacques Fox served us the dessert and had a nice chat about the food preparation. Everything was perfect and we're looking forward to our next meal there!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Houston. Tucked away just outside of Downtown, this is a rare gem in the gourmet French culinary world. Jacques, the owner and chef has created an amazing foodie paradise - delicious and approachable food that is outstanding and fresh. So many gourmet French restaurants try too hard. Or, the dishes are filled with so many pretentious ingredients that they may be different but not foods you'd want, no hope to eat every day. Jacques has created an incredible menu and restaurant that is a rare jewel in the Houston culinary scene. And if you are lucky enough to eat here during Houston Restaurant Weeks (HRW), you'll be in for an extra special treat. The HRW menu is fantastic. We only wished we could try everything. And, it's an unbelievable deal. If you are going for a Theater evening or something special downtown, this is a wonderul place. If you just want a great lunch one day or need to impress a client - they have a wonderful lunch menu that is exceptional. The service is always amazing too. Don't miss out on this gem!

I just got home from eating lunch at Artisans with 2 friends. We went for Houston Restaurant Weeks. We all agreed that we will definitely come back again and this time bring our husbands!! We ordered from the fixed HRW lunch menu and each and every thing we tried was delicious. I especially like the trout almondine. Two of my friends had the mango sorbet for desert and couldn't stop talking about how light and flavorful it was.The dinner menu looked very interesting, but it was on the pricey side. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very helpful in helping us place our orders. He was attentive without being overbearing. I can hardly wait to return!! P.S. The bread was hot and fresh out of the oven and tasted divine.

This is our favorite fine dining experience in Houston. Excellent french cuisine and great service. A bit pricey, but worth every penny. In Houston, you won't find a better dining experience.
