“An absolute must for all campers!”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

This park is the most unique of any of the state parks we have visited in TX. You almost feel like you have stepped back in time to prehistoric times. The eeriness is both beautiful and a little scary-at first. The park is very clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Restrooms are clean and warm -weather was cold and they had just installed heaters in them.

We were camping with friends and family. We were in a travel trailer, another couple were in a tent, and third couple rented a cabin. Everyone was very pleased with their site/accommodations. We all plan to return again in the summer when everything "greens up". We all would highly recommend this state park.

“Surprisingly interesting”

You can drive to the park or pull up your boat to the park. The walking trails are great and there is so much to see. We love to go here in the summer.

“Unique”
Reviewed 31 January 2012

This is really a uniqui lake. Lots of hanging moss. If you are a fisherman, as my husband, is you will enjoy that part. Lake is shallow and actually has "roads" marked through the water. Easy to get lost, so don't recommend night fishing. Also alligators are seen often. Really a beautiful spot.
