We stayed six nights on a bird watching trip. The hotel was superb. Service was attentive and effective. Marty was on duty seemingly non-stop over the entire time and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Charlamagne and Kolby on the front desk were very helpful. The rooms were terrific - new and clean. The hotel was quiet even given the large number of guests. The staff dealt with a blackout and a big storm calmly and efficiently. Breakfast was well done and available in a pleasant setting.
Two suggestions. First, the hotel should advertise in birding magazines emphasizing its central location to many terrific bird watching sites on the Texas Coast all within a close radius. This can draw a new source of guests in a significant way. Second, to increase profits, keep the thermostat higher in the common areas - the halls, the breakfast room, etc. These areas were downright cold at times and I am sure this was at considerable cost to the hotel. Guests can regulate the temperature in their rooms and have slightly warmer hallways going to and from them! And, there will be a lower carbon footprint for Best Western.More
