The time we spent at the Resurgence was truly special. We had a wonderful lodge, with every amenity we could want, and the location and view was spectacular. Dinners at the main lodge were great, with a lovely social hour before with wine and appetizers. We met many interesting people and had fantastic conversation. Claire helped us set up a great kayak outing to Abel Tasman, and told us the best places to stop for a bit to eat. Bonus: one night the sky was so clear, we not only saw the entire Milky Way, but the International Space Station and other satellites! A special place!

Room Tip: The lodges up closer to the main lodge have the best views (get Kakapo if you can).

My 2 days at The Resurgence lacked sunshine but the location is still spectacular when rainy and covered with clouds. My lodge was very comfortable and it was wonderful to take a morning bath or shower in outdoor bathhouse !
Meals were excellent and hosts were excellent

When we first arrived, we thought this was far away from everything but ended wishing we had a day or two more! We were greeted by Claire, the host and quickly checked into our secluded lodge. It was such an amazing change from staying in hotels. Claire and Peter go above and beyond to ensure they meet all the needs of their guests from the dinner to the hiking paths to the amenities. The bush lodge we stayed in was amazing and had all the you could need including a very comfortable bed. We had the breakfast in our lodge each morning and it was so nice to relax at home and cook our own healthy breakfast. We had dinner at the lodge once with Claire, Peter and other guests which was delicious! And we grilled at our bush lodge one night and invites one of our neighbors. Highly recommended!

Claire and Peter were great hosts, welcoming their guests at 7pm with wine and delicious canapés, followed by a delicious and imaginative dinner. Despite some rain we had some interesting walks in the nearby Abel Tasman park and really enjoyed our stay - good company, comfortable and well equipped rooms in a secluded and peaceful location...

Room Tip: All the rooms that we saw were excellent

What a wonderful find - this lodge and the people who own yet place are exceptional - loved the ambience and the peacefulness of the bush lodge we were staying in. Has all the mod cons you need wonderful semi outside bath and lovely lounge/dining room area as well as the bedroom. Clearly the whole approach what travellers need was well thought through.

We had one dinner there and thoroughly enjoyable and nice to meet and chat with fellow travellers. Lovely area - Abel Tasman right there and some beautiful bays and walks to be had.

If we ever return to NZ would love to spend longer at the lodge - a big thanks

This lodge is amazing. We stayed in the lodge that was extremely comfortable and roomie with a lovely balcony to take in the beautiful forest that surrounds the lodge. All you can hear are the birds that surround the property. The property around the lodge is great and there are well kept walking paths surrounding the property for a nice hike. The hosts were so welcoming and the food there prepared each night was fantastic!

We stayed here for three night as our first stop on South Island . The accommodation was excellent . It was very well equipped so we prepared all the meals we needed. Everything you needed for a continental breakfast was in the unit and replenished daily. It was an ideal place to visit the Able Tasman park as well as Marahau and Kaiteriteri. Spent the evenings sitting out on the patio listening to the birds and insects, barbecuing our meal. The good weather helped as well.
