We had read some mixed reviews on El Pato from non Spanish guests but we usually go by what the Spaniards say when it comes to food as they really know what good food is! We loved the area and ate fantastically well for a whole week but our best meal was in Bodegón El Pato where we ordered 'pulpo asado' (octopus BBQ) which was spectacular as a starter and tomato salad like you've never tasted before. We have two kids 9 + 10 and they fancied the 'presa Ibérica' which is a cut of the best pork in the world (no exaggeration, this is fact), we also had the pluma which is a slightly less fatty cut but both were perfectly cooked on a proper 'brasa' (log fire bbq) so the fat is not noticeable. Salads were superb and as we were pretty full we didn't order desert but we promised to return on our next visit.
Overall we had not one criticism and would not hesitate in recommending the place.
'When in Rome do what the Romans do' definitely applies here. Buen provecho.
