I have just returned from 4 days at this hotel, my sister and I arrived on Sunday and were given the key to our room on the 7th floor, which had a double bed and a brick wall outside the balcony. We went back to reception and asked for twin beds and were told no twin beds in studio rooms, so my advice is do NOT book a studio room if you want twin beds. After looking at another 3 rooms, we asked if we could upgrade, so we paid extra and had a room overlooking the pool, which was much better, although the room is basic and very tired and needs updating. I cannot think why this hotel is a 4 star, because Palace it is not. We stayed on a half board basis. Although the food is excellent and cannot be faulted, do keep and eye on wine prices for the same bottle, as they vary from night to night in the restaurant. In my opinion the hotel is not suitable for older people as the hill to the front of the hotel is very very steep, but you can use the back path which is not so bad. I will definitely not be going back to this hotel and would not recommend it to any of my friends.

Room Tip: Insist on a room in the centgre of the hotel overlooking the pool, do not accept a room overlooking...

We are a family of four with 2 young children-aged 4 and 2 and have just returned after a weeks stay at the Benalmadena Palace.

The hotel itself is nice, rooms are clean but basic, the views over the pool and out to sea are lovely.

Hotel:

We stayed in room 203, and after showering in the shower cubicle found it had flooded the bedroom and lounge/kitchen area through the wall between the bathroom and bedroom, this had clearly happened before as the wall and wardrobe had suffered previous water damage. We did advise reception and they sent a maid up to mop up the water but maintenance denied there was a problem. We was offered another room but declined and just used the shower in the bath instead.

We stayed at the hotel on a self-catering basis but did not eat at the hotel so can't comment on food, however at nearly 4€ a pint drinks were expensive at the hotel, compared to the bars not far away where a pint of San Miguel was 1.5€.

The pool area was nice and clean and the lifeguards/attendants were on the ball tidying away any rubbish but were bordering on obsessive with the straightening of sun lounges as soon as you had vacated one!

The famous hill was not so bad once you had got used to it and you can cut through the car park to halve the experience!

Out and About:

We got on a bus to the marina/torremolinos for 1.40€, you can catch it at the bottom of the hill either m110 or m120, which is cheaper than the taxis at around 8€ back from the marina.

Be aware of the timeshare "sales people" operating around the tourist office and outside McDonald's trying to lure you into the sunset beach hotel.

We had a lovely breakfast each morning at the last resort the lady in there was really nice.

For our evening meal we went to the marina and ate at metros which was really nice, amigos and gauchos. Overall food quality really good although expect to pay around 50€ for a meal for 4.

We enjoyed our stay in benalmadena but would probably stay in a different hotel if we was to return due to the location, not that we are shy of walking as on 2 occasions we took the bus up to torremolinos and walked back to the hotel which for a 2 year old and a 4 year old and 31 weeks pregnant mum was not bad!

I hope you find this review helpful and not too long and boring! Lol! X

Stayed here half board for a week in early March and it was great. Everything from the staff, food, hotel facilities and location were just perfect. The apartments, although a bit dated, are really well stocked and are spotlessly clean, as are all public areas of the hotel. Fresh towels are supplied each day and linen changed frequently. The pool areas are well maintained and have plenty comfortable sunbeds. As per other comments on this hotel, the best way to tackle the hill is by going up the back entrance from the supermarket. There is lots to do in and around the hotel with nightly entertainment in the bar, although we thought it started a little too late for our liking and didn't really run to schedule. Indoor pool, sauna, steam room, gym etc were really good and having a laundry room, hairdresser and doctor on site is a real bonus. Our apartment was situated on the 3rd floor just a few doors away from the reception, facing the front of the hotel. It was quite a dark room due to the trees across the road and was quite noisy at times from people in reception. We did get the morning sun however and I would imagine would be perfect during the height of summer as it would be nice and cool. We fully intend to return to this hotel again, hopefully for a month next time.

Room Tip: overlooking pool if not in the height of summer, otherwise the rooms overlooking the mountains and s...

Have just returned from five nights at this hotel half board. It was great value for money. Plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner. The hill is not too bad, but there are ways around it, either out the back entrance to supermarket or when you come out the main door, go to your left and it is not so bad. The apartments were spacious with twin bedroom, and pull out sofa bed. Fresh towels every day. Plenty to do in hotel and surrounding area. We went to St Pats day mass and parade on saturday, tivoli world and cable car on sunday and market in belalamdena on friday. Really great location with lots to do. In the evening, there is entertainment in the bar, bingo, quiz, parrot show, flamenco. Would recommend for families.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view and if you want ground floor ask for floor 3 reception

Great stay, nice staff, typical 4 star. Liked the pool and the staff control of late night party goers.

We are just back from 5 days stay from the 7th march. the rooms were clean, reasonable size, comfy beds and cleaned daily. the fod in the snack bar was grand just burgers, toasties etc but meal in evening was horrible. Not much selection and didn't taste great. But eating out in Benalmadena is so cheap anyway you will not be stuck. the happy hour buy one get one free was from 5pm to 6pm in bar and 9pm to 10pm in disco bar. but be careful some drinks were not included ie jack daniels and southern comfort. drink deals down the street were very good also and happy hours are everywhere. the hotel staff were all very pleasant and friendly. the pool area was mopped every morning and plenty off sunloungers. we were very impressed with the facilities for kids, cinema room, soft play areas, pool tables, mini golf, football pitch and kids club.
THE HILL. What hil???l. it was short and mildly steep and yes you can take a short cut through the hotel car park. It will not kill you.
Overall the hotel was great and good value for money. the resort itself was lovely and plenty going on.
