Big, nice rooms, nice pool area, nice breakfast, nice dinner, close to Port Aventura, parking available, long wait at the check-in and check-out at the reception, souvenir shop nice but expensive, hotel staff OK.

PortAventura Hotel El Paso
The best choice if you're gonna travel by train from Barcelona with luggage, this hotel is the closest one from Port Aventura train station on the way to parks (3 minutes walking time from the station and 5 minutes to the park entrance).
We booked 1 night weekend package which included unlimited PortAventura park access for the days of check-in and checkout and one entrance to Ferrari Land during our stay.
So we arrived at 09:19, checked in (and our room was ready!!! by this time although standard check-in time is 3 p.m) and were provided with room=park keys with our names on them. So we could enter PortAventura by 10 a.m (opening time)
The had evening shows for kids including park characters in the hotel but we were so tired after park so couldn't attend any of them.
Breakfast was included in our rate, the choice is really wide, they had everything your kids can dream of including eggs, Nutella and fresh fruits.
The hotel is designed in traditional Spanish style, they have several buildings with restaurants and rooms and beautiful garden.
Unfortunately, we didn't check swimming pool.
The room was big, although initially seemed a bit cold for November so we had to turn on heating. The floor was neither carpeted nor wooden so cold also. The bathroom had bath.
Next day we left our luggage in special room and headed to the parks.
Overall, the hotel is great, check-in process is fast and informative, breakfast choice is wide, location is perfect! We loved our stay.

Fantastic hotel, highly recommend for family holiday. Food and drink was amazing with loads of choice. Theme park 2 minute walk away and town centre 15 minute walk. Only downfall was evening entertainment for kids was in Spanish each night so we couldn’t participate.

Stayed with our 7 year old son for a week half board over the halloween break. The hotel was very busy as to be expected.
The rooms were clean and reasonably well appointed however lack a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.
The pools looked good but were closed over the Halloween period.
The staff we came across were all very helpful and the hotel is ideally placed for access to the parks.
Our big issue was the buffet restaurant. At times it was chaotic with large queues to get in. The good was very average and no were near 4 star standard. At times the choice resembled a school canteen and was very repetitive especially the kids options. For what you pay this is not good enough.
The restaurant is cramped and at certain times is overran with clients all surging towards the food counters. The staff do their best but are unable to cope with the sheer volume of people in the restaurant.
I wouldn't stay there again but soild visit the parks which were excellent.

Overall the hotel is fabulous! We had a great holiday. The themepark is amazing, Ferrari land is incredible. Both themeparks were included in the price(1 day ferrari land pass) of the holiday which was great value.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and there is an amazing smell in the lobby and the corridors. We stayed half board and ate every morning and evening in the buffet restaurant. Food selection was very good, even for my fussy eater son. The breakfast was exceptional with plenty of hot and cold options, great coffee.

Any staff member we dealt with were polite and helpful. Prices of drinks, snacks, etc. were a bit pricier than in the local town but is to be expected in a resort. There is a big supermarket about 10 mins walk away so easily accessible. We didn't bother much with Salou as it is not a pretty or particularly Spanish town, it is very touristy.
The pool was perfect for some relaxation. My daughter enjoyed the kids pool which was very safe and had a pirates ship to play in. Again, very clean.

The one complaint I have was that the air condition was turned off, probably due to the cooler temperatures this time of the year, however the rooms were stifling at night time which made it hard to sleep. We kept the balcony doors open in order to circulate some air but then were eaten alive my mosquitoes and even had a bird flying around the room one morning! We did ask at guest services about the air con but were told that it was off for the whole hotel and that it couldn't be just turned on for one room. Maybe we were the only ones who found the rooms warm. Apart from the lack of air con, everything else was great.
