The apartment is nice an spacious. Has cooler. Microwave and fridge freezer. Also has hair dryer in bathroom.
Towels and loo paper supplied with some cleaning sponges etc.
The apartment block is residential and the pool area is very quiet during week so is a bit of an oasis.
The apartment is basic but for the time one spends in it. It does the job and has local supermarkets next to the block.
Would use again if we returned to the resort.
The only issue we experienced was the taxi driver took us to another apartment block due to name of apartment name of marysol 8nstead of Los volcanes.
On arrival we found the apartment half cleaned and a pack of floor tiles on the kitchen counter, and the beds unmade. I called Maria and she sent the cleaners over, they came an hour later. It seems we were sent the wrong keys to the wrong apartment, and were meant to be in number 1, but had keys for number 2. Number 2, was very dated, has a bath and a cooker, and the balcony is in the shade all day long. Number 1 has a shower, no bath, no oven just 2 rings and has the sun all day.
We booked this apartment as it was a good price for 2 bedrooms. There were two of us and we wanted a bedroom each. The other places we considered were a lot more money. However the smaller of the two bedrooms only has a tiny window at the top. so it's quite dark in there. Also i didn't want to leave the window open at night as it faces onto a public balcony, and even when open it lets very little air in. And so it made the room uncomfortably hot to sleep in. There is a fan to plug in, but without an extension cable it sits too close to the head of the bed, and so is noisy and blows in your face. So i ended up sleeping on the sofa in the living area with the balcony door wide open. We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment as neither of wanted to sleep in a living room, but we ended up having to do this as the small bedroom was so hot and stuffy.
The apartment was clean, the balcony gets the sun all day. There is an attachment on the balcony to put a parasol in to get some shade, but there is no parasol. So we had to buy one.
It contained all the items we needed in the kitchen (but there is no oven), but none of the drinking glasses matched. It was handy that there was cling film, and kitchen towels and ice blocks. also a good supply of toilet rolls.
There were boxes containing wifi gadgets but they didnt work.
The complex is mostly residential and we were asked to be mindful of the residents. Which we were. However there was a couple of elderly gentleman apparently living in the apartment next to us, and they had frequent late night arguments. We heard what sounded like one of them punching or hitting the other one, and slamming one of them up the partition between the balconies. On our last night they were shouting and arguing, and then the headboard was banging against the wall until 2am. Followed by another argument.
The pool is nice, they put new steps in whilst we were there. They are suitable for older people, as you can now walk down into the pool. The sun loungers do not recline or lift up to a seating position and there are no covers on them. There are also no parasols in the garden, so no shade. We used the parasol we purchased, but really some should be provided.
There are 2 lifts which is good.
Despite being on a busy main road we could not hear the traffic from the balcony facing the pool.
It's centrally located for shops bars and the beach, and also the bus.
We didn't care for the resort at all, far to built up and busy so we wont be going back.
The apartment wasn't really what we expected. I think maybe i hadn't taken on board that it is a residential one not a holiday one. And as i say the small bedroom was too hot to sleep in.
But it was clean and the views were great.
The south-facing balcony must have one of the best apartment views in town - straight across palm trees to the lighthouse and the sea. Quiet at night despite close proximity to lots of shops and restaurants. Effective ceiling fan in main bedroom, well-equipped kitchen area, large fridge-freezer - all very clean. Bus stops nearby for travelling around, 10-15 minutes' walk to beach promenade. Maria was very helpful throughout the booking process (and when we accidentally left our car keys behind!); we would certainly stay there again if in the area.
I really couldn't fault the apt,ok ok not as many English tv channels for the few moments you had the tv on, but CMON ,really!!??
Five minutes stroll to the beach or the yumbo centre, shopping close by,all amenities you could ask for and a veiw to unwind too.
Five out of five from me ,oh and the owner has been wonderful in comunications leading up to our stay, thank you Maria!!
As i said it was a nice location, central to most things. nice balcony, a bit dated and tired maybe. But my wife didnt like the bedding and pillows and cushions on chairs, as they were stained, could do with replacing and updating, apart from this it was nice. this is my honest take on it.
Maria is such a lovely friendly REALLY ORGANISED lady - she couldn't do enough from start to finish-.fresh fruit bowl, and water in the fridge - upon arrival to collect keys - exchange was to perfection and timely - no delays whatsoever-Apt + Small Complex ,quiet and so clean, lovely gardens + pool- fantastic Location -+ so safe -everything on the doorstep- a definite " home from home ",A CLEAN,LOVELY NEW KITCHEN,BATHROOM ,LOADS OF LINENS AND TOWELS,WASHING MACHINE,REALLY COMFEY BEDS,- plus a secure key safe -definitely plan to return-soon- SUPER TIME,GREAT VALUE,ONE OF THE BEST APTS IVE STAYED IN -
