We were staying at Jardin Del Sol apartments above this restaurant and when we arrived we popped in here for a quick snack. We chose a steak bagette and a couple of large beers at a cost of 12euros but one sandwich between us would have been enough, we were so impress that we went back on the evening, The staff at La Carreta are very helpful and will guide you through anything your not sure about. the menu caters for every taste and also offers a large choice of tappas. the waiting time for our meals was about 20/25 minutes but every thing is prepared and cooked fresh to order, the meals are a little on the large side so on our last visit we chose a sharing platter of mixed tappas and we were guided through our choice by our excellent waitress Guacirbra this cost 14.50 euros for the two of us but again we still could not finish it all. If you want an authentic spanish meal, a relaxing dinner with plenty of choice or just a really good feed all with excellent service you must give La Carreta a try

Came here on the first evening of a holiday with my parents, as their flight had been delayed and nowhere else that looked decent was still open.
The tapas was authentic and delicious. The coffee and brandy (Carlos I) also hit the spot. After this successful first outing, we were there for lunch almost every day (only a daytrip to Puerto de Mogan forced us to miss one) - and I even had a plate of jamon and a slice of tortilla espanola for lunch on Christmas Day (the main event at the hotel was in the evening).
Also, as the coffee at the hotel was awful (fresh ground beans but seemed to be made very weak) we came in for a coffee and the occasional nightcap on most evenings.
Over the course of the week, I think I managed just about everything on the tapas menu - and a pizza. I can particularly recommend the octopus (pulpo a la Gallega) and the squid (chipirones) - but everything was tasty and exceptionally good value for money.
The service was outstanding (a little slow during busy periods at lunch time - but I suppose it's very difficult knowing how many staff you'll need at that time of the season) and always with a smile and a joke.
I would recommend this place to anyone who likes authentic Spanish food - it's particularly convenient for anyone staying at the Eugenia Victoria or the Playa Riu but is worth a walk if you're staying more centrally.
Don't forget to ask for "Tres cafe grande con leche...fuerte!"
