“Love it here!”

Our family has stayed here many times over the years and we're never disappointed! The staff is courteous and rooms are large. I couldn't recommend them highly enough! We will be back!

We went for Sandfest- (our first time -texassandfest.com)and it was great! I was nervous booking a place I had never seen before. You hear the horror stories and you prepare for the worst. What we found was a pleasant surprise. We stayed in a 1 bedroom by the pool. It was nicely decorated and lacked for nothing. It wasn't luxurious but very comfortable. We couldn't see the beach from our room but could hear the waves and it was a short trip over the dunes on the boardwalk to get there. As I said, we went for Sandfest and staying within walking distance is the way to go! No having to deal with the traffic congestion on the beach( yes, you can drive on the beach!) Front desk staff was very helpfull and housekeeping staff very pleasant. We didn't use the pool but the larger one was heated. Grounds were well maintained and clean.

We have stayed here a number of times each year for several, can't recall, years. We keep coming back because of the 2 pools, only one flight of stairs, price, location and it is rarely crowded if one goes during the week. They have now built a wood walk way across the dunes. Very nice. The down side is that we continue to get apartments with problems that should not exist. Some owners must be very cheap in allowing the management company to fix things. We have had bad beds, broken electrical appliances, a patched door that had been kicked in, broken locks , broken door knobs, stopped up sinks and dirty carpets. The things I also dislike is that the stove fan on the microwave vents into the kitchen, the bath has no powered vents, first floor ceilings are 7 feet, most have no ceiling fans or fans at all and the A/C does not cool the bed rooms well.
We have looked at many other condos and keep coming back to this one for convenience I guess. We do not like elevators or lots of stairs when lugging belongings and wearing wet bathing suits. I just wish all the owners would fix and repair the things found wrong. Price is usually $200-300 a night with taxes. For that I expect it to be as nice as my home! I would recommend any one that don't like the place when you get there is to ask for another, forfeit your deposite or go to the Holiday INN down the street.

Very enjoyable. The view from our second floor flat was great. We asked for a room with a view when we reserved it. They were very up-front that some were obstructed by dunes and found us one with a nice view. This was in October so it was not a peak time and it was very quiet. There were others there but we never heard them. There was some wear and tear (paint, chips, etc.) but nothing major and it was clean and everything worked. It seemed very spacious and our group of 6 was very comfortable in the 2 bedroom flat. All the staff that we dealt with (reservation, check-in and maid service) were very friendly. The only drawback was that we saw a couple of roaches on the first day (none the second). It was very clean so I don't believe it was a cleanliness issue. For the price it was great.

I stayed in a two bedroom condo with a gulf view during my senior class trip. It wasn't luxurious, but our condo was definitely clean. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for making meals. The place was kitschy-cute. We were provided ample towels every morning. The back patio felt somewhat secluded and served as a nice spot to enjoy my morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The beach is within walking distance, but not as close as I would have liked it to be. Thankfully, I'm young and didn't mind trudging over the dunes. There weren't too many people on the beach either, which was really nice. My only complaint is that the back door fell off its hing the first night and was not fixed until the next morning-which really sucked for those having to sleep in the livingroom. The people at the front desk were very friendly though. I would definitely recommend and return to this place.

The previous reviews of Coral Cay made it sound like an older, but rather nice place. Very misleading.

Bed HORRIBLE. Had to go buy an air mattress. They said there was 2 TV's. Yes, there was a working TV in the living room and a TV in the bedroom. But that one didn't work AT ALL. There was just a TV sitting there, Maintenance said the cable was rigged at the hotel and we were a room that didn't get cable, just a TV. Light bulbs were missing in several of our lamps. The coffee pot and dishwasher were broken. We did not have a gulf view like we reserved. OH, and when I sat in one of their chairs, the cushion fell through and I fell in the middle of the chair. The furniture was old and looked like it came from Good Will. The curtains were broke off of the top and just hanging there. This place was just not what we expected. We will continue to stay at THE DUNES or PORT ROYAL, or even SAND CASTLE. We will NEVER stay here again..

  • Liked — Maintenance responded quickly and were very nice.
  • Disliked — Gross furniture and broked appliances

This complex is an older one but the common areas are well-maintained. The units are individually owned and the two that we saw each had some drawbacks, most notably a lack of operable windows and screens in the studio, which we found perplexing for a waterfront property. We originally booked a studio but were moved to a two-story two-bedroom unit (at a minimal additional cost) upon our request for accommodations with operable windows and screens. Our two-bedroom unit had two balconies and wonderful cross-ventilation that allowed us to turn off the A/C at night and enjoy the sea breeze and surf sounds. Both units were very clean and totally bug-free. The two-bedroom was better furnished and had a half-bath on the first floor as well as a full bath on the second floor with two sink areas that came in very handy. The complex is on the beach and our two-bedroom unit had an unobstructed view of the water even though it was farther away than the studio unit. Price was very reasonable for a resort area. Not luxurious but very comfortable for our purposes. Try Trout Street Bar & Grill on the harbor -- awesome!!!!
