“Great location; OK facility”
Reviewed 1 May 2012 for a stay in April 2012

We timeshared at this property; anxious to try a TX beach for the first time (we live in VA.) Area lived up to our expectations and the facility worked OK for us. As experienced timeshare travelers (27 years), we never expect a timeshare facility to be at the top of glitz and this one was about in the middle of our expected range. The building is aging a bit and shows it in ways that are not necessarily a drag on the experience (kitchen had been redone but bath needed the same treatment.) The floor was all ceramic tile: good for maintenance, but not so great when you returned from the beach with sand on your feet. The staff and management seems genuinely committed and do a good job of keeping things in working order. We had a vicious thunderstorm that knocked out power and water service: the maintenance staff worked late into the night getting things running again. Kudos to them. The beach is good but not quite as elegant as the FL gulf beaches, and we got a large amount of seaweed washed up (perhaps the storm.)
Overall, the area (and the seafood) is worth the trip, and the facility is good enough to recommend, especially for timeshare visitors.

We had a great trip to So. Padre Island, Texas in May 2011. We stayed 10-days at the Inverness Condo Complex and the location is terrific, with direct beachfront access with miles of sandy beach in either direction. The complex has coin operated laundry on each floor, pool, hot tub and covered parking! Only negative: there is no Internet or BBQ/grill area at the complex. This is the second time we stayed at the Inverness and leased a condo through So. Padre Island Rentals and we highly recommend them for vacation rentals. All of the staff members are easy to work with, very knowledgeable by offering suggestions about their (many) listings, places to dine and things to do on the Island as well as Port Isabel (the Lighthouse Square). Many restaurants offer lunch, Happy Hour, and early dining specials and we enjoyed dining at: Sea Ranch, Scampi’s, Louie’s Backyard, Amberjack, Parrott Eyes, Dirty Al’s, Pier 19, Jakes, Pelican Station, The Grapevine Café, and Sunday Brunch at the Isla Grand Resort.
