Trent Country Club is owned and operated by a local resident who has had restaurants for years. I have been eating his cooking for many years and it's like going home every time I go there. Just reading the menu is entertaining in itself and eating what you ordered is a country delight. There are great steaks, chicken, fish & seafood, ribs etc with a good variety of country cooked sides to accompany these great dishes.
The atmosphere is extremely relaxed and country to the core so don't expect china and crystal at your table but the food is hard to beat anywhere within 50 miles. It is definitely worth the drive to get there and be sure to take some time to look at the view of the surrounding plateau and plain geology around the place.

Different, basic and great food. 2-3 miles off I-20 on FM 1085 south and it's well worth the drive. Steaks, shrimp, chicken, fish and normal steak house type sides. BYOB. They don't sell alcohol but do have a donation kegerator. Will definitely go back.

People are friendly. We had the fried catfish and ribs which were both very good. Our daughter and her boyfriend who are from Kentucky came with us and both said they would come back. I'm sure we will go back when we have the chance. The catch is that it is only open on Friday and Saturday nights from 5:30 to 9:00 and a little out of the way. But it is worth the drive.

I have had dinner here many many times. This is the best food in the entire Abilene area. This place is located about 5 miles south of Trent Texas which is 14 miles West of Abilene Texas. If you go to Abilene on a weekend do not miss it!! It is only open in Friday and Saturday nights. It's one of the best steaks I have ever had and that says alit being that I am from Dallas Texas. Be sure and order the squash appetizer and the catfish is amazing!! It's BYOB and fantastic fun atmosphete. Don't miss it!

You won't need a knife to cut these ribs, but unless you want to use your fingers, you will need a fork. I've never been served meat this tender. My guest is a very picky steak lover & seldom finishes a steak -- always a problem: overcooked/undercooked, tough, tasteless, etc -- but here, she consumed it ALL, and then ordered dessert. The restaurant, located on top of a hill, is open only on Friday & Saturday evenings, and closes at 9 PM. Outdoor dining is available, weather permitting. The owner/cook is semi-retired. Reservations not needed. Casual dress, diners wear anything from flip-flops, jeans & T-shirt to a 3-piece suit The bill for 4 was $110.
