As mentioned this is intended to be an extended stay hotel but don't expect to get the rooms for an inexpensive rate. The hotel is like new, offering services not found in most hotels in Tyler. As mentioned before the rooms offer free internet, free washer/dryer on 1st floor, cable (with 68 channels including HBO), VCR/DVD player, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker and microwave. The rooms have a thermastat for AC/Heat however it turns on and off constantly, rather annoying when trying to sleep since it is noisy, the ac/heater unit is not a central unit rather a unit under the window. Speaking of sleep the beds are not that comfortable and the pillows are rather thin. (This is my only real complaint about the hotel but a good nights sleep is the most important part of the room.) It is also unusual that the 1 bedroom suites have a double bed instead of a king. The location of the hotel is good and since the hotel is set back off the main road it is very quite. Guests of the hotel are welcome to use the full service gym behind the hotel, this is an added plus. Also the hotel has a "cupboard" room on the first floor with an unbelievable assortment of drinks, frozen foods, and snacks. This hotel would be an A plus if the beds were better, also for the price paid (over $110/night) I would like housekeeping service more than once a week.

This is a clean, comfortable hotel in an excellent location. The hotel is set back from the main road, so my room was very quiet. The bed was good, the A/C worked well and the shower was remarkable (water pressure like a fire hose, nice for a change). The staff was very friendly. There are many restaurants and stores nearby.

I only stayed one night, but those new to Candlewood should note that this is considered an extended stay hotel. There is no breakfast, and the towels are only changed out once a week.

I was pleased, and would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

not sure why the 4 1/2 out of 5 user rating on this website. i was born and raised in tyler and live just outside of tyler. i have stayed in really nice hotels and some dumps. this is a solid 3 but not quite a 4 hotel. there is no pool. hot tub yes. rooms are clean and the hotel is quiet. this is a hotel for extended stay business travelers. in room full size fridge, two burner cooktop, dishwasher, free laundry on site... that kind of stuff. lots of restaurants right around the corner. fitness club right across the street. south tyler. all the pluses. apparently candlewood has something to do with intercontinental hotels? not sure what the relationship is there, but i've stayed at the intercontinental in dallas and houston and this is a stepchild to either of those monsters. small hotel. clean. quiet. no champagne and caviar.

We stayed here on the last night after a weekend in Canton. The check-in was super quick with the very amiable clerk. We were well pleased with our room.It was very clean and well arranged with a queen bed that was very comfortable . There was a fridge and microwave and a two burner cook surface for those who might need one, just not us. We got a great reccomendation on a really great mexican restaurant on the west loop a few miles from the hotel from the desk clerk (Mercado's). The hotel is in a very quiet area in the very nice south end of town before the loop. There is even a nice fitness room with a few treadmills and a couple machines ,if you so desire.I even saw a laundry room available. Definately would stay here again .

This is a great hotel if you want to do plenty of shopping with many malls nearby. It is a good base if you want to look at some of the attractions of Tyler. For us it was a great place to have an overnight stop as the shops nearby and the full kitchen and refrigerator made meals easy. There was an extensive walking track that went right by the hotel and we walked for about an hour. It was safe, scenic and gave us a much needed break from sitting in the car. The free laundry was clean and very convenient.
