I stayed one night and had repaided for the room. The furnishings were up to date and well done. You could tell the owner looked after the rooms. You receive free "continential" breakfast at the Stan's burger place just down the road. It was a great cold breakfast with juices, coffee/hot water for tea, cereals, toast/muffins/danishes. You also could use your room key to get a 10% discount on other meals at Stans.

Rememeber to arrive after 3 pm to get checked into your room as I arrived just before 3 and the office had a sign that it opned at 3pm and the door was locked until then.

My wife and I stayed en route to Capitol Reef NP. Clean hotel which is critical to my wife. A bit pricey, but no other options around. Continental breakfast was fine. Would stay again.

Nice clean cabin, really a hotel room made to look like a cabin from the outside. Friendly proprietor. Breakfast voucher for Stan's Burger Shack next door; good range of cold breakfast food. Extra small towels provided for cleaning messy things e.g car windscreen, was a nice touch.

There are not many choices of places to stay in Hanksville, UT. Although the motel does not look like much from the outside, our room was clean, the bed was okay and the internet worked. Hanksville is near Goblin Valley State Park but does not have much else to recommend it. We also ate at Red Rock Restaurant which I would not visit again.

We were traveling thru the Southwest on a 3-week motorcycle road trip with 2 other couple from Edmonton Alberta. It was hot, hot, hot riding Utah. It was over 100F when we arrived at the Whispering Sands. I was just hoping for an air conditioner that was on and working and a clean shower and bed. We were so surprised when we arrived in our room. It was absolutely spotless, lots of towels, beds were very comfortable and the carpet was so clean you could actually walk on it without having shoes on! The air conditioner was on, running nice and cold and was also quiet. We were provided rags for cleaning our bikes and lots of other extras that most motels don't provide.

My husband was so impressed with the 3 young men that made up the housekeeping staff that he actually left a tip, something we don't usually do as most rooms we've stayed in don't warrant a tip.
