The hotel was quite full when we arrived for a 3 night stay. We were given a room that was the closest to the ice machine, so noise from the machine and passers by. Not everything in the room was working. No other rooms available that night. We asked if we could move to another room for the additional 2 nights and we were quickly and promptly accomodated the next morning. The second room was upstairs and was much nicer. It had lamps that worked and seemed to have more light and a little less worn.
The room itself was fine. It is inexpensive, so you do not get anything fancy but it did have a small refrigerator and microwave so we were able to eat in one evening. The bed and bathroom were clean but the carpet was a dark colour and dirty. Don't wear white socks or they will soon be black.
The breakfast was horrible. Poor coffee, poor juice, some bread and english muffins for toasting and a waffle maker. The toast accompaniments were a tube (yes a tube) of cheap margarine and tubes of sweet jelly/jam.
We had our own coffee and had that in the room and bought some peanut butter to put on the toast for flavor and protein.
All in all it was cheap and met our basic needs.

We were a day earlier than reserved and the front desk could not have been nicer about accomodating us the extra nite. They even let us choose between the last two rooms left and we chose a suite at a wonderful price - we had trouble with tv remote (no big) and they tried 3 different remotes for us. The sleeper couch was broken (springs in table drawer) but i don't believe that this had been reported to them. They brought us a roll a way but it was a twin and the broken couch was a double -we were SO tired from a loooong wedding or we would/should have asked for another extra roll a way. Housekeeping was very accomodating - we chose very limited service to conserve resources and Housekeeping was very nice. Excellent breakfast, in room coffee (appreciated!) Just about everything one could want to get pretty for a wedding, rest afterward and even enjoy a football game on TV as well. We had a lot of fun and didn't need to spend a lot of money. Thank you so much Super 8 Hurricane! ps finish patching the drywall/paint where you have installed the new shower curtain rods and the bathroom would look much better!

Room Tip: ask the front desk if you can look at a couple examples- we didn't even have to ask ...they offe...

Upon entering room 225 on the second floor of this two floor motel, I switched on the light switch. No light came on. So I walked thru the dark room and found another light on the wall between the beds. The wall switch near the door should have turned on a bulb above the small table with two chairs, but it was burned out. The room and bathroom were clean. Someone had been in the room and washed their hands in the sink after the room had been cleaned. A towel had been used and the small soap was unwrapped.
The shower head in the tub was the massage type and of good quality with good flow. I didn't try any of the massage settings. The bathroom appeared to have been remodeled recently. They provided shampoo and a small bar of soap.
On that first night I killed two small cockroaches on the counter next to the sink. I didn't see any more roaches during my two day stay. A family lives in room 223 next to 225 and I wonder if the roaches came from there.
The room had a CRT TV with cable, a microwave and a fridge. The card with TV channels listed that sat next to the TV didn't seem to actually have the correct channels listed, at least for HBO. I didn't watch much TV, but couldn't find HBO that was listed on the card.
The beds had cheap springy mattresses that were worn but not quite as hard as some budget motels and slightly more comfortable. The pillows were filled with what felt like a single rectangular piece of flat foam rubber. One was a little more plump than the other, but both were pretty flat and hard.
The sink, which is outside the shower/toilet area, had a faucet that was missing the aerator that should be in the water outlet, so when you turned on the water it didn't come out in a smooth steam but erratically in all directions, especially when the flow was turned up a bit.
The breakfast was simple with Frosted Flakes or Raisin Bran cereal, waffles, bread for toast, orange or apple juice, coffee or hot water to pour in a packet of hot chocolate mix. White or wheat bread for toast, muffins and that's about all. Breakfast started at 7am and at 7:15 the four tables were occupied the two days I was there so I sat in the lobby where there is a coffee table a chair and two sofas. I think there were chairs for eight people in the breakfast area.
It was fairly quiet there during my stay Oct 2011 and the motel appeared full by the number of cars parked. The motel is 1/2 block from the main highway behind a gas station so I didn't hear any highway noise from my south facing room.
There is free WiFi available. I overheard two other guests in the breakfast area say they watched a netflix movie so the connection was fairly fast. I didn't use the WiFi much, but I did connect and get some info online I needed.

Room Tip: It may be best to choose a room that faces south. That side of the motel is away from the highway. T...

No smells, but unfinished spackling over bathtub. Old style room with old looking furniture - nothing special. Fridge works and one nice thing was the Jacuzzi! Loved that. Not may rooms for $65 have Jacuzzis - that's for sure.

Internet was a joke. Free but too SLOW and spotty - just a frustration.
TV was a joke. VERY SMALL, like 25" - guys, this is 2011. 25" TV should be in landfills - or my kitchen, not for main TVs of a hotel room. Remote's batteries were dead.
Free breakfest ends at 10AM - too early.

Not too friendly staff, just OK.

Lots of noise and "pops" all night like things were snapping apart in the walls - very weird an annoying.

Would NOT stay here again.

Oh, NO sign of bed bugs - I CHECKED. So that was good. ;-)

The Super 8 in Hurricane is 24 miles from the main entrance to Zion NP and 19 miles from the St George UT Convention Center or the Subway Trail Head, so if hiking or the Senior Games is your thing, it's $20-40. less expensive than a place in town or near the park, and worth the drive. The pool is warm even in late September, and the staff helpful. Brittany keeps the waffle mix and juice filled for the free breakfast and makes you feel she is happy to have you stay there. The carpets and bathrooms were clean (no mold!) and the rooms were well lit. The bed was comfortable, and the TV supplied 79 channels including HBO, while the free, reliable WiFi added convenience. I can recommend the Hurricane Super 8 to families and hikers as well, as it is far enough off the highway to provide a safe and quiet place for R&R between adventures.

Room Tip: If you're staging for a backpacking trip, ask for room #103 with one Queen bed and a 10'x10...

As said, a perfect base camp for visiting Zion and doing all the hikes. Perhaps it seems like a long way off and a long drive, but it isn't at all. We didn't like the looks and the prices of the motels and hotels closer to the park. Overcrowded areas, or overrated and overpriced. We come to hike, and at the end of the day enjoy our quiet time. Over the years we've stayed there twice, for three or four nights each time. Very nice place to go back to, after having hiked Angel's Landing and what not. Friendly staff, good rooms and very nice rates too! And free internet in the reception hall to check our email ...
