We were welcomed by Michael and Jennifer to their apartment and shown how everything worked. This is important as appliances are different in other countries.
It is a beautifully decorated apartment, very clean and comfortable. We were sorry to leave we felt so at home...
The apartment is not far from Bryce Canyon National Park
Highly recommended.
This is an amazing apartment. The owners have thought of every detail to make your stay perfect. The location is wonderful for Bryce Canyon and the views from the outside terrace are amazing, especially at night when you can see the Milky Way. We had use of the barbecue which meant we could cook and eat our side making the most of our stay. The owner makes wonderful chocolates and leaves samples each day, out only disappointment was that we couldn’t work out how to buy some before we left! You won’t regret a stay at The Hills.
We were EXTREMELY lucky to get a one-night stay during our visit to Bryce Canyon National Park. We had to leave the a nearby B&B due to noise from the highway, and they were nice enough to recommend The Hills. The location of The Hills is perfect! It is quick 10 minute drive from the park, and about a mile off the main road, so there will not be the roar of trucks and cars to keep you up all night.
But the biggest plus was our host Wendi. She was at once a professional and super nice and attentive to our needs and questions. When you pull up to the property, drive around back since the "apartment" is really the basement of this house. Wendi and her husband Steve have done a wonderful job of renovating this unit. It has a FULL kitchen, large bath, and a quiet bedroom with no windows (yeah) which has a comfy king sized bed.
We definitely took advantage of the kitchen to make ourselves a healthy and economical dinner and breakfast. And our hosts have paid attention to detail by also providing a tea kettle and Keurig coffee machine with an assortment of teas and coffee beverages. And what was that in the fridge? Yep, they even included a water filter so no need to buy water, just fill up your water bottles.
Other nice touches include a DVD library and a SMART TV with a variety of streaming apps like Netflix, HULU, and Amazon Prime. All in all, just a very comfortable and inviting experience.
But the two biggest perks were:
1). Complimentary use of a washer / dryer unit - which really came in handy after a long day of hiking in the hot UTAH sun.
2). Two complimentary homemade chocolates. Wendi is a MASTER CONFECTIONER and not only does she make little chocolates for sale, but she also provides desserts like cheesecakes, tortes, and other delectables for a restaurant in town.
If you are lucky enough to score the apartment, do yourself a favor, and BUY some of Wendi's homemade chocolates before you leave. I won't quote the price, but let's just say, for the quality she is providing, her product would easily cost double in the DC area.
The Hills was an awesome place to stay and our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.
Wendi”s attention to detail meant that everything was perfect right down to the beautiful handmade chocolate.
Very comfortable and fitted out with everything you need for a few days away. Complementary choices such as homemade chocs and daily towel changes are the icing on the cake.
There is no doubt in my mind, The Hills is the absolute best place to stay if you are planning a visit to Bryce Canyon National Park. No hotel could match the comfort and luxury this apartment provides. This place is five stars++.
The apartment is conveniently located about 10 minutes from the main entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park, away from the distractions located near the main entrance. It is a spacious one-bedroom with full bathroom and kitchen and a large living room with a comfortable couch for relaxing, watching movies or catching up on social media after a day of hiking (WiFi reception was excellent).
We checked into The Hills on February 8th for a five night stay and took full advantage of this lovely apartment. We both ended up having terrible colds, so although we went out hiking in Bryce every day, we spent lots of time in our cozy apartment. It would have been awful had we been stuck in a small hotel room, forced to go out for every meal.
Driving from Nevada, we had stocked up on groceries in Cedar City, so we prepared all of our own meals (not many dining options in low season) and were happy to be able to feel at home, with all the same conveniences.
Wendi and Steve are awesome hosts, ready to provide whatever you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable - including a taste of Wendi’s delicious homemade chocolates (to die for)! And thank you Steve for having the laundry room ready in time for us to use before the next leg of our trip!
We would recommend this place to anyone planning on visiting the Bryce area. You will not be disappointed.
What a great place to stay! A very comfortable, convenient and clean place to stay. What you see on line is what you get. The host is very friendly and personable, and the place is quiet. Food choices in the area are a bit limited, so the access to a kitchen a real plus. Would definitely stay here again.
