“A welcoming, funky college town sandwich shop.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

"Powers" is a combo grocery store/ sandwich place near Bennington College. No pretense - just tasty, generous, well prepared lunch fare. A pleasant trip back in time.

“Good value for breakfast or lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2011

This is a cute market, with a deli for takeout or eat-in. They have about 4 tables if you want to eat in. The service can be slow, but if you're not in a rush, relax and enjoy the good sandwiches and variety of teas and coffees.

“relaxed and informal spot for breakfast or lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2011

I agree with what the previous reviewer said; I stopped in on recommendation from a friend and had a nice bagel and coffee. They have some breakfast choices that are different, such as a toasted sandwich with avocado, bacon, and tomato and a good menu of choices for lunch too, all with various coffees or other beverages. A nice place to read the newspaper or stop and get a sandwich or other to-go items (sweets too) for a trip. Very pleasant.

“Great find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2008

Powers Market has apparently been at this location for a long time, and is a small town grocery store, but well maintained. We discovered it by accident. Had freshly made sandwichs, made before your eyes by a personable and attractive young lady, from freshly sliced lunch meats and other ingredients. Only three small tables, as the lunches are a sideline. My wife and I had the equivalent of a Philadelphia hoagie; two large sodas; two Ben & Jerries ice cream cups; and a bag of potatoe chips - all for less than $10.00. Excellent and priced right. If they keep it up, may have to get out of the grocery business and just do lunch.
