My family went up to Jay Peak this past weekend (Nov 26-27) for a youth hockey tournament. It was the first weekend that the new water park was open. It is really amazing. The addition of the water park has got to have put Jay as the #1 place to ski in the east if you have kids… hands down. If the weather is brutal, no big deal – head to the water park. If you are want to warm up post skiing .. head to the water park. Want to surf.. water park - hot tubs.. water park. As others have said the Tram House Lodge is very nice – the food was also very good at the Alice’s table. But the water park (aka Pump House) is straight out amazing. Not sure I can capture it with words.. but when you walk in and get your first view of it .. all you can say is “wow!” or “Holy $#^@!” … I had a blast – my 8 year old twins (boy and girl) could not get enough (“Do we have to leave?” and later “when can we go back”) and my wife had a great time too. If you have real little kids there is an area in the park that is appropriate for them. Tons of staff and life guards who all seem very proud of Jay. So, if you are thinking of a ski weekend...More
