The Quality Inn is tired and worn out. The front desk clerk reflected that depressive nature when we checked in. The carpets to the room are worn especially on the steps. The room itself was fine...except...the smoke detector was dismantled (Isn't that against fire code?)...the shower curtain rod was broken (unscrewed from the wall and hanging upside down) which means the shower curtain couldn't close...there was not a plug for the bathtub...the desk lamp had no light bulb when we finally got a replacement one we discovered why--the light didn't work...the towels were threadbare and didn't dry but unless you ask at the front desk the towels aren't changed until you've been there for three days...the door to the balcony did not close tight...the air conditioner did not work well. The pool looked good but...the pool system "broke down" the first day we were there.
Everywhere we looked there were "money saving" strategies in place. Little things like one shampoo in a room designed for 4.
The breakfast was okay. They'd run out of yogurt and had been waiting for a few days for its arrival. The food was fine. Nothing to write home about. There are two other Choice Inn properties on the same street. One of which boasts a sign "The friendliest hotel staff in town." Next time, we'll try there.More
