“Very convenient to slopes; thoughtful use of small-ish space, great for a couple.”

Loved having firewood at the ready for a cosy apres-ski fire. Appreciated relative proximity to Toll Road lift, which gets you far enough up the mountain to cross-over to several other lifts. For your afternoon skiing, when you just want to glide without fighting the mountain or the crowds, the slopes served by this lift are perfect. The longest trail on Mt Mansfield is Toll House Road (3.7 miles I think), and it's an "easy" trail, so a great way to end the day with a long run almost to your doorstep. We were there three nights; if you're planning a longer stay, maybe consider lodging in the town of Stowe, as the resort didn't seem to have a lot of dining options.

Management Response

While the long range plans for Stowe include updating the Toll House area with more amenitites, right now there is just one restaurant within walking distance- the Fireside Tavern located in the Inn at the Mountain. It is mostly a tavern (as named) with munchies & burgers. Up at the resort (1 1/2 mile up the road) there are several dining options, but the majority of dining options in Stowe are somewhere along the Mountain Road or in the Village. The Mountain Road shuttle does run into the evening, so it is possible to use that and skip the car.
