The "quaint country cabin" is a little too rustic for most families with small children but the real problem is with the owner. The wifi was provided with a cheap little hotspot and there was a daily data use limit and the owner accused us of streaming movies (which we never did) and used that and a clogged toilet (which was not clogged when we left) as a trumped-up basis for keeping our deposit.
There are so many wonderful places to stay in and around Charlottesville. They might cost a little more but it's worth it not to be in the middle of nowhere at the mercy of a lousy landlord.
We had the most relaxing weekend imaginable in this beautiful little house. We spent hours sitting on the front porch, watching the beautiful horses and, when we tired of that view, we moved to the back deck where we grilled steaks for our dinner. The house has everything you need and the kitchen is well appointed. Despite the fact that there were things to do nearby, we never wanted to leave. A little piece of heaven in Virginia!
