I took a full day to walk and drive the trails. This is a favorit destination. I recomment stopping at the vistitors Center for a chat and a map. There are several different habbitats for birding and wildlife. Woodlands, Marsh, Grasslands and Beach. The famous Delmarva Fox Squrriel was seen on several occasions as well as Sitka Deer. The birds were plentiful and the beauty and quite a treasure. Being off season it was not too crowded this was a plus.

The beauty of the marshes and the birds and wildlife that inhabit this area is astounding. There are hiking/biking trails, clean beaches, ponies, eagle's nests, deer, wildfowl, a lighthouse and much more to explore. We would highly recommend this park to couples and families alike.

The lighthouse was very interesting. The beaches are beautiful and clean. I thought the price for entrance was very reasonable.

This park belongs to all American taxpayers. The staff at the park are friendly, extremely knowledgeable & happy to interact with visitors. Wildlife/bird watching is excellent. There are beautiful gently sloping beaches and untold miles of hiking/biking trails. This fabulous park offers many activities to all interested visitors. The welcome center is loaded with exhibits, explanations of what to expect, demonstrations& a wealth of information. Staff is there to guide your visit & answer questions, & insure your safety while enjoying the park. This is another of America’s incomparable resources set aside to preserve the habitat, animals who live there & for us to take away new understanding of our place in nature. Come see this exceptional place .... it belongs to all of us

My hubby and I went in March 2018. The weather was erratic. One day clear, the next damp, cold, rainy & then full blown snowfall. It was considered "off season" but we still saw lots of waterfowl, birds and of course the ponies. Its quietly relaxing and a great place for nature lovers to unwind. Lots of beach locations that are untouched by commercialism. We will totally be back.
