Comfortable 3 bedroom house surrounded by nature. At various points we saw herds of goats, llama, or ponies, raccoons, opossum, a variety of birds, and at night the chatter of frogs and other night creatures. It was a peaceful place to stay on a peaceful Chincoteague island.
My wife and I stayed here in early September, 2016 for four nights to go kayaking and explore the area. The house worked very well for us. The beauty of the Red Cedar is the marsh behind the property, which the dining room and master bedroom looks out over. We saw lots of wildlife there, including horses. The house is very private compared to most of what's available in the area. There is another house in front and to the right of the property, but it was not occupied while we were there. The house is nicely decorated and quite comfortable.
The location on the marsh, while the biggest plus, also has its drawbacks. There area has an odd smell if you're not used to it, and of course there were mosquitoes. Nonetheless, we were satisfied with our choice and would stay there again if we're in the area. Make sure, though, you notice in the rental agreement that you need to bring your own linens!
Our favorite restaurant there was Pico Tacqueria, which really just a food stand but the flavor is incredible. It was so good we went there two nights.
