Just did take out for my office. Food was enjoyed by all, quickly prepared and reasonably priced.

“Tasty food, nice location”
Reviewed 5 September 2011

Your impression of the food here will likely depend upon your selection. We ordered the wonderful tomato basil soup and shared the chicken curry (large and delicious--enough for 2 people, like a Bahamian yellow curry stew with bits of pineapple, tomatoes and purple onion over rice). Both dishes had the perfect blend of spices. Service was a bit slow, but the place was packed and generally has a relaxed atmosphere. You could order one of their many wraps with fries, which looked well prepared. However, I think that we made a great selection and would encourage others to check out these types of dishes to really appreciate the cooking at Soul Mountain, nicely situated just off the park.

“Our experience was not great...”
Reviewed 24 April 2011

I'm very surprised at all of the positive reviews, I give this place less than a year to stay in business. The exterior is interesting and welcoming, it caught our eye and that is why we ventured in. We also assumed that they had a liquor license since there are wine bottles in the window, but they do not serve any alcohol at all. We stopped by on a Saturday around 3pm. There were only two other tables being serviced, yet there were 3 or 4 dirty tables that hadn't been cleaned off. This place is not very clean at all. The kitchen is downright gross and the bathrooms aren't maintained well. The menu is interesting and offers a lot of variety. I ordered the cajun catfish on a roll and it arrived baked instead of fried and without cajun seasoning. The childrens' meals came about 10 minutes before ours. My husband had the jerk chicken wrap, and he thought the sauce tasted slightly sour. After our meal we used the restrooms and had the unfortunate experience of walking past the kitchen. After peering inside we crossed our fingers that none of us would get sick from the meal. From a cuisine standpoint there isn't much going on in Front Royal, so I guess of the choices this is the best last resort. If you're used to good cuisine w/fresh ingredients then you will be disappointed in Soul Mountain.

“Great menu, great service”

Great menu with a wide variety of interesting choices. This is not a typical small town cafe. The service was outstanding.

“another great dining experience”
Reviewed 26 March 2011

My wife and I dined this evening (Saturday). The restaurant wasn't very busy, which I can't understand, because it's so good. Maybe just a slow weekend.

We started with the mushroom risotto, which was excellent. Nice big pieces of shroom.

Both of us had the filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes. The filet was perfectly cooked to order and mashed potatoes were great.

Dessert of the day was tiramisu, which was very good as well.

Service was awesome. All in all, a great experience. No complaints.
