Nando's is an international casual dining restaurant chain originating from South Africa. I have had the pleasure of eating in the USA and in S Africa. The quality and taste is consistent. The restaurant is decorated with with a Mozambican/Portuguese theme -- including a hand washing station (yes you can use it!).
Most of the food will be considered "spicy" to American children. So make sure you ask what's best if you have kids. Also the sauces are awesome and the chicken is served butterflied and tender. It's pretty fast.
Ordering is different than how we are used to ordering. You get a table aside and go there and then you go to the register to order. Once you are you sit down and they bring your food to you. The beginning experience can be a little bit confusing because most restaurants in America don't work this way. The servers there are more like table cleaners. If you expect them to serve you you would be mistaken. They seem to get annoyed if you ask for the simplest things.
Overall, this is a great experience for tasting something new. It's a place that offers a different type of routine and a different type of food that were used to. We have become regulars and we enjoy it frequently.
