My fiancé and I were looking for a secluded cabin in the woods to hold our wedding with just the 2 of us. This cabin was perfect! There is a huge wall of windows that was the perfect setting. The owners added a hot tub on the front porch the weekend of our stay, making everything wonderful! The cabin had a lot of odds and ends that we could have forgotten at home, which was great since it was a drive to the closest store. (Note: If you happen to have an AT&T cell, you will note get service in the entire town of Galax, including at the cabin). We had a fantastic weekend get-away and this cabin will always be extra special to us since we exchanged our vows here!

Loved this place. Planning on staying again this coming October. The only thing I would say it needed was a dvd player and maybe some curtains. It was a beautiful place and the pictures do not do it justice. Only got to stay one night but it was defiantly worth the price. Not far from downtown.

Saw this online, thought it looked good--it looks GREAT in person. A little pricey, but my wife's positive exclamation on opening the door was worth it. Secluded but not far away from Galax at all; can be downtown in less than 8 minutes. Central air/heating, loft with single and double bed, main bedroom a comfortable queen. One bath, but a nice one with oversize heart-shaped tub and jaccuzzi and separate shower enclosure. Towels/linens/gas grill/stove and oven, along with essential kitchen wares. Also washer/dryer. Be aware that cold water on washer takes a LONG time to fill. Randy, the owner, very personable and helpful. Regraded the drive for us when a gully washer rain storm made some significant topographical changes. Your low riding vehicle will bump and scrub some. Take it slow and use lowest gear.
Galax has several nice shops, bookstore/wine and cheese shop, antique car museum, the Rex Theater and tasty country cooking in several locations, as well as Bojangles, Hardee's, McD's and a super Wal-Mart.
Don't miss the Blue Ridge Music Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway less than 15 minutes away. Mid day mountain music can be enjoyed daily there with local bluegrass and old time musicians of stellar abilities. Great historical displays of music origin as well. And very friendly populace, not just the merchants.

The cabin was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Just bring your luggage! There is a queen bed and bath downstairs, along with a double and a single bed in a loft. The owner, Randy was kind enough to rent the home for a one night stay. (Most other rentals had a 2 night minimum). We also felt comfortable knowing the owner lived at the end of the street incase we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again. The only suggestion is the home was a little difficult to find because GPS doesn't show all the secondary roads in the mountains. If you book, ask for specific directions. We loved it!!!
