We booked a 2 night stay at the Meander Inn and were looking forward to staying in an old southern plantation B & B. The inn was nice and the room spacious and the breakfasts were good. We had several issues with our stay here. We couldn't get the innkeeper to respond to phone messages left on her voice mail. We called several times on two different days to arrange the dinner basket the inn offered for our evening meal on our first nights stay. We never received a single returned call. I also emailed and did finally get a response from that. We didn't receive a very good explanation about the heating and cooling system in our room and as it was cold in the room, I had to figure out how to get the heat on myself. There was thermostat outside the room in the hall, not exactly where you would expect it for your room. Several lights and lamps in the room didn't work or had burned out bulbs. There was a noticeable sewer odor in bathroom. And there seemed to be a problem with lots of insects in our room. I realize there are going to be some quirks with an old home such as this, but some of our issues were due to what I would call inattention to detail. When you pay over $300 a night for and B & B stay, you expect a certain level of comfort and accommodation which was lacking in our experience.
