I spent one night at the Kirkley during a road trip from PA to NC. I booked it at the last minute after some traffic jams throughout the day made reaching my destination that night impossible.
From the outside, the hotel looks like a big concrete box. But once inside, the hotel was very nice and had an inviting lobby.
My room was spacious, comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. It felt like the bedroom and bathroom had been recently updated, though a chair had a small slit in it. The room included a microwave and refrigerator. Only downside: the heating unit was a bit loud when it kicked on.
My rate did not include a free breakfast. But the buffet breakfast for $10 was very convenient, tasty and good value. It includes cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, pastries along with two hot items (eggs, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal) that are cooked to order and delivered to your table. On top of that, the breakfast room was inviting, unlike many budget chain hotels that provide free breakfast buffets.
The hotel has a nice indoor pool and small fitness center too.
I would not hesitate to stay here again when needing to an economical place to rest on a road trip.More
