We dined at The Red Fox Inn with another couple and found the experience well worth the drive to beautiful Middleburg, VA. Our reservation for 4 couples was reduced to just two at the last minute - no problem. Our table for four was next to a table for 6 that included a fussy infant and a loud 2-year old, so we asked to move to a more quiet table away from the noise - no problem. These are just two examples of the how superbly the staff responded to our needs/requests. Everyone we encountered was warm, friendly, and thoroughly professional...and this was on a busy Sunday evening. Our orders were for side salads of goat cheese with dates, peanut soup, and the Inn's house salad. All were exceptionally fresh, tasty, and amply sized. That they were all delicious was an added bonus. Our entrees included brazed beef tips, a halibut special, and veal cutlet. All were well presented, perfectly prepared, and were ample enough to provide take-home portions for enjoyment the next night. We all thought the meal delicious and were ready to ask for the check when our server tempted us with the dessert menu - we shared 2 orders of the Decadent Chocolate Torte with Raspberry sauce, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream - Wow...it was truly spectacular! The dessert experience was over-the-top in flavor and was indeed decadent (just like I like my desserts!). The entire experience at The Red Fox Inn was wonderful...we can't wait to go back.
