We stayed at the Jaipur Inn for 7 days. The rooms are very neat and clean and have Heating!! . Great views and location. The food in the roof top restra was very tasty and the restra has the best view of the ganges. The staff too was very polite and helpful. 'Will definately go back.

Hotel Jaipur Inn is very clean and comfortable. The worst part is the noise from the hotel staff early in the morning, shouting at each other, that can be heard inside the rooms. The walls and door do not keep the noise out.
Our room had a nice view of the Ganga river. It is also very close to Laxman Jhula Bridge. We stayed a few nights for Rp700 per night, then found a Rp300/night option at Hotel Surya just down the street 100m. Hotel Surya is not as clean or new but fine for longer stays.

Be very careful when it comes to reservation and payments. They will try to trick you and make you overpay. We stayed for a week and canceled the last day upon arrival but they made us pay for it. Cancellation policy is two days. They had new guests in our room that night and got paid twice.

I spent one night in Rishikesh. In December it was quite chilly when we arrived so we ruled out all hotels without heating and running hot water. Jaipur Inn was the first place we found that provided both of these facilities.
Strengths:
+The location is excellent, just next to the Laxmann Jhula bridge - many restaurants and shops around.
+The staff is rather friendly - on the first day it was average, but on the second day everyone was smiling and nice.
+All facilities worked (heating, hot water, TV).

Weaknesses:
-The room was not very clean - I found a lot of old dust on furniture near the bed.
-No bed linen was provided for the blankets.
-The room wasn't cozy at all. The furniture was old, there were some holes in the bathroom walls with electrical cables inside etc.
-The fan heater is loud, which is a inconvenient at night.

All in all - acceptable standard for travellers and backpackers - not bad at all compared to other budget places in India. Definitely I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic honeymoon.
The price is many times higher than in cheaper hostels nearby, but apart from heating and hot water there isn't much to justify it. Value for the money is very poor. In other cities you can get much more for the same price. The price is so inflated probably due to lack of competition in Rishikesh - most sleeping places in this town are very basic, so there is not much choice if you want basic "luxuries" like running hot water.

The location is very good, just next to Laxman Jhula. Staff is very kind and helpful - mainly the receptionist. The rooms look quite nice at first sight, but then you find out that they could be much more cleaner. Maybe they have just trouble with washing in hot water or so.. And the bathroom - nothing speacial maybe a little bit worse. I would expect better standard for those money.

We stayed at Jaipur Inn last year and enjoyed the stay, though the bathroom was pretty grotty. Recently returned to find the price of the same room nearly doubled to 2,000Rs. No problems! There are plenty of 300-400Rs hotels around and a shop near Ram Jhula that sells new sheets for 200. Jaipur Inn need to raise their standards or lower the prices.

If you ask what is special about this hotel, I will tell first it's staff and then the location. The staff in this hotel is very very friendly and ready to help you at anytime. You ask them anything...railway ticket booking, vehicle arrangement, travel advice...anything. They are ready to help you and they are knowledgeable.
The rooms are large. Neat bathrooms. Even in the hot May, the AC was doing wonderful job.
