Splurged for us and got a beach bungalow. Chai Chet beach is one of my favorites in Thailand, and our bungalow with patio was right on it. The service staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was good (has egg station, french toast, pancakes, fresh breads and fruits, and Asian options too), and we had a couple of nice dinners on the beach, including fire shows. As some have mentioned there are nice dinner options across the street as well (Thai, Italian, seafood, etc). I liked being secluded on the quiet beach, but within easy walking distance of a supermarket and convenience stores across the nearby street. However, this is not the beach area for rowdy nightlife. We rented motorbikes next door (unlike at Coconuts we didn't need to leave a passport) and had fun going around the island, although be cautious as some of the hills and curves can be adventurous. Our bungalow was very nice, but as a previous reviewer mentioned the shower head is not mounted on the wall and too short to get above your head without stooping (no wall mount for toilet paper either?). I believe it had Wifi but we live in Thailand and have our own 4G.service. The maid service added a nice touch each morning making different animal figures.
