Booked a three night stay here, but had to check out the very next morning.
This is not a resort or hotel, but a by product of a fishing and sea food factory. There are small cage like nets of different size of fish. Place smells also, though not too much.
Too far away from everything else on the island.
Staff is friendly, but the spread is limited and almost all full of sea food.
Would not recommend for a family vacation.

I have visit many places around The World, and i Can honest say that i never have been in a place where everything was perfect.

Salakphet resort has change that.

Ko chang is an Island with 2 total different worlds.
The West site is bar, shops, food places, live music ect like every most tourist places.
And really scary Road if you NOT are used to drive a motobike.

The east site is a flat road, with beutiful green areas, waterfalls, and silence.

This resort is on The east site of The Island, and is Build on The water.
If you like silence, Best seafood in Thailand, snorkling, kayaking this is The place.

The staff speak english and are super Nice People, and always ready to help if you need it.

I Will come again one day.

Thank you for a really good christmas holliday 2016

I wish I had taken photos as the room we stayed in didn't look like the photos on here!

When we arrived at the ferry port we asked a policeman to help us as there were no taxis to the Salakphet side of the island and when we asked the ones who were geared to go to lonely beach/white sands beach they wanted 1000b which we weren't willing to pay. He called our hotel who arranged a private taxi for 500b. Good start!

When we arrived we questioned what we had let ourselves in for. Dirty looking from the front with a few stray dogs and stagnant water in the front ponds. However....

We were quickly shown to our room (standard with aircon) which was clean and had 2 bottles of water, shower gel, shower caps toilet roll and soap and towels waiting for us. The aircon had a remote so we could choose the temperature. Bingo! Only problem was, the shower room and toilet had breeze blocks and a window that didn't shut and being so close tithe water that meant bugs!! We managed to keep the door closed from the toilet to the bedroom but nevertheless going to the toilet or shower meant meeting mosquitos or other insects.

We had fresh water and toiletries each day.

The staff arranged for us to hire a scooter (they only had motorbikes when we arrived) which got there within 10 mins with half a tank of fuel. They charged 250b a day which is average for the island.

Food- we didn't have food included in our stay but did eat there a couple of times as there really is nothing else close by. It was overpriced. We made the mistake of ordering fish which was priced as 70b in the menu but as we didn't read it properly we were shocked to find it was actually 400b as it was 70 per 100g - oops! It was a good piece of fish and I've no douBt it was fresh but we were just not expecting to pay so much!
The minced chicken we had the next day had lots of bone in it (disguised so you only knew when you were eating it!) and they also brought out an incorrect dish- when we told them they weren't happy- "it's chicken. It has bones. Eat the bones." And also complained loudly at the waitress who took the incorrect order. Made for an uncomfortable and embarrassing meal!

All in all, the staff were nice, it was peaceful and clean and has ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE VIEWS... I just wouldn't eat there again and would take a few plug in repellents!

After having some annoyingly delicious fresh Shrimps with chillies and lemon and prawns with garlic and pepper at Diamond Hill Seafood at Salakphet like 2.5 kms before Salakphet resort and seafood restaurant, when we got in there, after being offered the menu by one staff and other one came to take our order, kind female but did not really budged from her place as it takes little time to decide from those huge range.

We really wanted to had Sushimi as mentioned in menu the price for 100 gms snapper was 70Thb but she refused by saying that minimum quantity to be served is 700 gms which was really strange.

So we dropped that and had crab cakes and pineapple shake and after taking order I was asked whether I was Muslim or Not which probably I didn't mind, maybe they had this conscious that they are using Pork fried oil so they might not be wrong but possibly if the reason could have been told to us, it would have been better.

Pineapple shake was really amazing and crab cake was surely tasty but really oily, not expected to pay 250 thb for that oily thing.

When asked for the check, it wasn't presented to us but the amount was being told which was absolutely accurate.

Overall I would really say that management could enhance the customer service attitude or just cut the slack and the quality of food being served, rest it was good.
Thanks

We ate at the restaurant for lunch. The food was the best freshest seafood on an island that prides itself on good fresh food. This is a long know best eatery for those who visit the island and is always quite full at lunch. Few western tourists but many Thais from the mainland. The Resort is on the west side of the island and not close to the general tourist areas on the east side. It is a long taxi or motorbike ride.

If you are sightseeing on the west side of the island this is a definite worthwhile place to stop and eat.
