My wife and I traveled with two other couples and a single lade from San Jose to Granada for our most recent visa renewal. After searching Trip Advisor for several days, we decided on Casa Agua Luna. I don't think we could have made a better decision!
Things you need to know:
1.The house location.
The walk from the house to the Central Park is about 10-15 minutes depending on how quickly you walk and it there are no turns from the house to the central park. If you arrive to Granada via Tica Bus, the house is 3.5 blocks from the bus stop. There is a few places next on the same block to by water, soft drinks, etc.
2. Cleanliness
When we arrived, the house was immaculate. The maid (Alejandra) was there cleaning when we arrived and she was there each morning for several hours cleaning. She was a great lady (Spanish only). She cleaned and was always willing to clean anything we asked her to clean.
Each bedroom and bathroom were clean.
3. Bedrooms
The three bedrooms downstairs are all quite nice. They are plenty spacious all with there own private bath. Two bedrooms with double/queen beds and one bedroom with two twin beds. My friends said all the beds were quite comfortable and the air conditioners worked great. They did say a few of the shower heads sprayed water a little crazy (so, it might be time to change those out), but the water was nice and hot and never ran out.
The master suite upstairs was enormous. The king size bed was dwarfed by the size of the room. The bed was very comfortable. The bed frame, head board and side tables were all made from solid concrete, but you wouldn't know unless you touched it. We thought it was a good feature. There are two fans in the master bedroom and a t.v. with cable and a DVD player. (The cable was a little fuzzy) The master bathroom, again huge. The toilet and bidet had it's own room and the jacuzzi and showers were great. (There was a problem with the drain plug in the jacuzzi, but with after working with it for a few minutes, I got it to work for the time being. Management should probably try and fix that, but not really a big deal.) The double vanity was nice and the master closet was quite huge and had enough room and hanging space to hang an entire wardrobe. There was a separate air conditioning unit for the bathroom and master suite. The loft outside of the master suite over-looking the pull was really nice with four wooden rocking chairs.
4. Other rooms
The den/living room was quite nice. Another reviewer said it was kind of stuffy. No one in our group said it was stuffy. There was no air conditioner, but when the door to the courtyard and the window in the door to the street were left open, it created a nice breeze. There was also a fan above the couches. There was one couch (each end with a recliner built in) one love seat (both sides reclined) and one recliner. The tv was very nice, large and clear. There was also a DVD player and a small collection of DVD's.
5. Kitchen
The kitchen was quite nice. It had everything you need to cook a great meal. The stove had 6 burners. There was a large 5 gallon jug of water available and all it took to replace it was a quick phone call and two dollars. The dining table had sitting for 10.
6. The pool and "isalnd"
The pool was amazing. It really made you want to just stay in it all day... which we did. We left each afternoon around 4:30 when the sun was going down. The pool is larger than it looks in the pictures. The furniture on the "island" were all very comfortable.
Overall: It was an amazing experiences.
A few IMPORTANT things.
1. A previous review stated the wireless connection was only in accessible in the den. The router is now positioned by the dining table and is a great router. We could access the wifi ANYWHERE in the house.
2. Electricity. Be aware, you will probably have to pay an extra amount for the electricity. Probably nothing extravagant, but something. We stayed for 3 nights. We only used the air conditioning in the rooms when we slept and at the end of our stay, we ended up paying $18 extra dollars. Nothing crazy, it's just note worthy.
3. Elizabeth and her team at GPS were great. Even if Casa Agua Luna is to big or not what you are looking for, contact her about any of their properties and I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Liked best:
The pool, master suite and everything else
Liked least:
Just a few minor fixes (jacuzzi drain plug, ipod dock not working)
